A trend that I am loving with retail stores is when they take their goods out on the road with them. Urban Outfitters had their pop-up shop. Warby Parker is spending weeks in different cities interacting with the locals and meeting their fans. Now, BHLDN is introducing their traveling trunk show to celebrate the third location of their newest store in California. They will hit up 6 Anthropologie stores on their travels (including Seattle!) and bringing with them their gowns for brides-to-be. BHLDN gowns are gorgeous, classic, and vintage, but a girl’s wedding day is going to be one of the most important days of her life so selecting one without trying it on can be a little nerve-wracking.

Ugh say it isn’t so!
Am I the only one who thought The Voice was so much better this season without her and Cee Lo. Shakira and Usher have done such a great job as coaches and with them alongside Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, the show has had more of a focus on talent and not just there being a spectacle all the time with Cee Lo’s cat and Christina’s inappropriate outfits. Seriously, who is doing her wardrobe? I’m disappointed in this decision, but what can you do?
They all just look so much happier in the photo above…

It was revealed recently that Jimmy Fallon would replace Jay Leno on the Tonight Show when Leno retires in Spring 2014. But the question remained, who would fill Fallon’s shoes on Late Night? Well, it looks like that man is none other than Seth Meyers! Seth is by far one of my favorites from Saturday Night Live. I’m excited to see which direction he will take this show in, but I have no doubt at all that he won’t disappoint.

Since Phillip Lim has been showing his collections on Style.com, I have been a fan. His pieces are effortless, classic, feminine and everything that I look for as an aging 20-something. Of course, I liked it before then too, but it’s much more applicable now. It was announced this week that Phillip Lim would be next in line to collaborate with Target and it looks like we’ll have the collection in stores beginning September! The collection will include pieces for both men and women and will feature apparel, shoes, bags, and travel accessories.
“Since an early age, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of design evolution,” said Phillip Lim in a release. “One of the reasons I wanted to collaborate with Target is because I felt that together we could create a collection that would inspire – one that is cool and chic, but still very accessible.”

Last night, I stopped by the Anthropologie event in Seattle to celebrate their new Petites collection along with special guest Joy Cho of one of my favorite blogs – Oh Joy! I’ve been shopping at Anthropologie since I was 15 years old so yes, I was a little bit of an old soul, but that’s okay – I just look at it as getting a head start on enhancing my wardrobe. After taking a sneak peak at the collection and sipping on sweet strawberry drinks, I was hooked. Not to mention – I got to meet Joy, herself! Here are some of my favorite picks from the collection.

I wasn’t sure if it would be possible to get a seat on opening night at Lost Lake Cafe the other day, but it happened! My former professor and I are huge fans of breakfast for dinner and with a menu that consists of nearly 150 different options, it was tough to settle down on a meal, but I decided with the Veggie Omelette because who doesn’t like that combination? It was a busy evening for the cafe, but I would like to think that since they are open 24 hours, everyone that would want to try it would have a chance. The atmosphere is an upscale diner with a vintage feel and the staff were very pleasant. My only qualm? The menu states that you can have UNLIMITED hash browns if it isn’t the weekend or the holidays and Colette and I both waited to see if we would be offered the unlimited hash browns option if we had finished our first, but we weren’t!
It’s okay – we’ll let it slide…this time.
But of course we’ll be back!
Welcome to Capitol Hill, Lost Lake!

Today’s the day! Capitol Hill’s newest 24-hour cafe is opening up their doors and locals cannot wait to get a piece of it. We all know that I am a lover of all things opening on the first day and I will just happen to be in the area later this evening, but with the anticipation that has been building around this cafe, I’d say it’s a slim chance that we would be seated pretty quickly. Then again, because it is open 24 hours, maybe that will spread out the crowds. (but who are we kidding)
Lost Lake Cafe opens this morning at 8AM on 10th Ave between Pike and Pine -the prime spot for locals and the weekend crowd.
On the menu, expect $8 burgers, $15 steaks and drunk food like baskets of mac and cheese wedges and onion rings. It’s also always breakfast. Yes, you can eat pancakes and drink a rum and Coke. You are an adult. Kids, by the way, are also totally welcome.
Also, for you early birds and graveyard shifters, Lost Lake will soon be home to the Hill’s only 6a happy hour. $3.50 wells, $2 beers. Good morning.
With drinks and food all the time whenever you want it and a restaurant tied to Capitol Hill entrepreneur Dave Meinert, there is really no way this can fail.
By the way, can we discuss this enormous menu?

It’s been awhile since I’ve come across something so extremely breathtaking and as amazing as this. As a little girl, I always dreamed of having a wedding outdoors or maybe even in a vineyard though I have never been. I never thought my taste in weddings would align with chapels, but if they are as magnificent as this one, then I might have to change my tune.
The chapel, which can be found in Eureka Springs, Arkansas houses one of the few examples of organic architecture. Designed in 1980 by architect E. Fay Jones, Thorncrown Chapel provides some stellar views and follows a very organic design. The structure is such a wondrous piece that it is hard to believe that anyone or anything could think of harming it, but that is currently what the chapel is up against. Recently a power company has applied to construct a 48-mile high voltage transmission line that will put it right alongside the chapel in the woods where it is located. I hope that this structure can be kept safe and at peace in its tranquil home, but it’s tough to say at this point what will happen.

As most of my friends know, I came onto the iPhone game very late. As in…last September late and the only apps I needed were my key social media ones I needed to be a better blogger. It wasn’t until recently that I started to venture out more and see what apps I could try out and which would benefit me. I recently discussed Food Tripping, but I came across this post on Cool Material that talks about 10 new apps you should also keep on your dash. If you’re in need of something new, check it out here!

The beautiful Keira Knightley got married over the weekend to her Klaxons’ rock star James Righton and she wore a darling blush toned knee-length strapless Chanel dress with extra tulle! And to top it off? None other than a Chanel bouclé jacket, of course. Also let’s not forget to note the floral wreath sitting atop her head. This is such a great look for the modern day bride and though we maybe never expected it from her, it works! Girl can do whatever she wants.

Oh yes.
And secondly, fans were so unhappy about the extra long tracks from his first album that they asked for the edited radio versions to be released. They can now be bought on iTunes, but in my opinion – I’d just like to say that we should embrace these long tracks! Shouldn’t we respect an artists’ creative vision? (Especially an artist like J. Timbers)

- Din Tai Fung will be opening a Seattle location at University Village this coming fall. The restaurant’s Bellevue location is already a huge hit, but will probably spread their customers out a little bit more with a Seattle spot as well. The new space which is currently being constructed near Blue C Sushi will be larger than the Bellevue Square location but will house a very similar menu. [Source]
- The original Red Robin space on Eastlake will soon be occupied by a Pecos Pit! The chain specializes in barbecue brisket and pulled pork. Construction on the new location will begin this fall. [Source]
- Boom Noodle has eliminated the “Noodle” from its name and now would like to just be called “Boom.” In addition to the name change, they’ve also added a late night dining special from Thurs-Sat 10PM-midnight. The menu will include tapas with prices ranging from $7-$14 and well drinks starting at $3.50 with $1 off draft beer, wine, and sakes. I love it when restaurants transition themselves to become a bar spot too. [Source]
- In just two weeks, Capitol Cider will open its doors to the public and no one is more excited than me. Hi, ciders are basically my drink of choice and now there is an entire bar dedicated to it. The menu will also include local brews, but let’s be real. I’m there for the cider and nothing else except maybe the brunch that will soon come and for the environment that will resemble an English-style pub. For more details, click here.

Designer Vivienne Westwood is bringing her creativity to the new uniforms that the Virgin Atlantic crew will be donning. Above is just a snippet of what we may find – the airline’s signature red, but the designer’s famous cut and folds. So how did this partnership come to be? Apparently Vivienne and Westwood and Richard Branson are old pals. Sort of. Back when Branson was well into the music scene, he signed Malcolm McLaren’s (Vivienne’s old flame) band, The Sex Pistols, to his record label. The collection will debut on the runway this coming July.
