I love WordPress. I love Spotify. My two favorite things in the world have just merged y’all and it is kind of blowing my mind! If you have stuck around with Yow Yow for a couple of years now, you know that I have struggled in the past with choosing an outlet to highlight my Song of the Day’s. I started out with some really weird looking YouTube videos that were a mix of music videos and ones that were made by fans. Then I moved onto SoundCloud because it had a much sleeker design and it was easy to use. Today, we’re trying out this new Spotify x WordPress merge. Literally, my life – or my Song of the Day selections could not be made any easier. All I have to do is go into my Spotify library, right click the song, copy the URL and paste it here.
I like this method a lot, but I wanna know what you guys think. Which format do you prefer to see Song of the Days in?

- Nearly Newlywed is a new start-up that I am probably going to become obsessed with very quickly. What began as a PR firm has now transformed into a website that offers beautiful bridal gowns that allow women to rent instead of purchase a gown for their big day. These gowns are “nearly new” and highlight only the best designers in the bridal industry including Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, Marchesa, Rodarte, and many more. Basically, every bride’s dream dress is right at their fingertips! The best part of this process is that you can not only rent it at a discounted price and send it back, but you can SELL it back for 30% of the price you paid for. That’s just unheard of for weddings! Learn more about Nearly Newlywed from founder Jacqueline Sheller Courtney in her interview with Fashionista.

While Tumblrs and websites dedicated to specific memes are still pretty funny, there comes a point in time when the funny just becomes a whole lot less. Texts From Hillary skyrocketed when the Tumblr debuted last week reaching viral status, but now the two creators, Adam Smith and Stacy Lambe have decided to make their exit and quit while they are still ahead.
“After a week that included 32 posts, 83,000 shares on Facebook, 8,400 Twitter followers, over 45K Tumblr followers, news stories around the world, Renee Montagne from Morning Edition saying ‘ROFL,’ a Maureen Dowd column, and a tweet from ?uest Love, we think it’s time to stop while we are ahead,” they write by way of explanation. “As far as memes go – it has gone as far as it can go. Is it really possible to top a submission from the Secretary herself? No. But then when you get to text with her in real life – it’s just over. At least for us. But we have no doubt it will live on with all of you on the Internet.”
This reminds me of when @Condeelevator still existed and to this day, I still miss it terribly.

I’m not exactly sure how this lineup got to be Chinese New Year themed. It is kind of lols, but as always the lineup is great so there’s no need to dive into that.

To help raise money for the Seattle Community Law Center, the city’s favorite fundraising music festival, Noise For The Needy, will host a lineup of shows in June. The Seattle Community Law Center is “”a legal aid nonprofit that helps low-income people with disabilitied receive social security benefits.” This year, the lineup with include former Quadstock band, The Thermals, The Duke Spirit and many other local bands that we adore. Last year’s festival alone raised $23,000. It’s so nice to see the city incorporating music in order to do good. Check out the full lineup here. Will any of you be stopping at any shows this year?

Also, there are like six people who work at Instagram. SIX.

Earlier this week, New York resident Zeddie Little, became an internet sensation after this photo was published on Reddit of him participating in the annual Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, South Carolina. Just look at the guy! He is simply effortless. No one looks that good running. Ever. So what was it? Is he just blessed with being photogenic? Was it great timing? Nobody knows, but what we do know is that this is one good looking guy and everyone is trying to get to know him.

Aside from everyone knowing his name this week, Zeddie has also been privileged with the opportunity of becoming an internet meme.
