Dress – Aritzia / Tights – Free People / Booties – Munro (Nordstrom)

We’re sliding in a quick post before we get ready for our birthday party tonight! I’d never worn this outfit before and I was a little bit hesitant to pair my t-shirt dress with these tights. This dress is from Aritzia, of course, and perfect for every day wear. I bought these tights actually from Nordstrom Rack – quite the steal! And we wore these boots because it complimented everything pretty well. This sitting pose is kind of awkward and actually we haven’t done one since this time, but it’s still kind of funny to me. I don’t do the whole serious thing very well.

Out on the Town: 11/8

Nordstrom Rack is taking over Northgate Mall and in a BIG way. This coming Thursday, Nordstrom Rack’s newest location will open to the masses and to kick things off with a bang, the retailer is celebrating with free gifts, a scavenger hunt, and the chance to win a $2,000 shopping spree with the store. Not bad for an opening, right?!

On top of all these things, the first 1,000 customers to make a purchase at the store will receive a complimentary tote bag. For full details on the store opening, click here.

Oh, So You’re On A Campus Tour?

Every time there is a campus tour going on, I happen to be involved in some activity that is not traditional at all for a normal college student. The first time, I played water wars with Veronica on the patio. Last weekend, we were filming a parody of Dollar Shave. This time…I posed in an outfit as Space Girl. The tour then watched me prance around doing various dance moves in the space helmet.

So here’s my justification in all of this. Yes, it’s a little strange, but if you want to understand in one tour what student life in the wild looks like, then this is it. By me behaving this way, you as the prospective student, can come to the realization that your future campus will let you just be who you are. It also says, “Hey, we breed students who do not care about their appearance/behavior in public.” Oh…just me?

Nordstrom Rack Relocates Next To Big Sister in Westlake

The finishing touches are being put on the new Nordstrom Rack location at Westlake Center. The store is moving from their old location down the street to be much closer to the flagship and with this move comes an even bigger celebration. At 7AM this Thursday, Nordstrom Rack will be opening their doors and inviting guests to a complimentary breakfast, live entertainment, and freebies. We all know how much I love free stuff!

In addition to these events, there will also be a little scavenger hunt that I promise you – will be worth it!

the first thousand people to make a purchase will receive a free Nordstrom Rack tote. For those who prefer the stakes a little higher: twenty emerald green hangers will be hidden around the store; find one and trade it in for $100 worth of merchandise (follow the Rack on Twitter for clues—and, this is just our own hint for general use: news of new designer drops). What’s more: one very lucky shopper will win a chance to race through the new space on a 90-second, $2,000 shopping spree à la Supermarket Sweep.

This kind of reminds me of those Toys R Us shopping sprees I used to enter myself in as a kid. It’s funny because I was just having a conversation with a couple friends the other day about how those kids way back when were just going about the spree all wrong. I guess I’m still bitter after all these years…am I willing to take my chances with the Nordstrom Rack spree? Maybe… just maybe.

The One-Cent Wedding Dress

Earlier this summer, I believed that I had found the steal of the season when I purchased my first pair of Frye boots at Urban Outfitters for $40, but it seems as if another dating blogger has had the same luck – maybe even better luck than I did. Yue Xu of Singlefied was perusing the racks of Nordstrom Rack recently when she came across a true gem – a Jessica McClintock bridal gown for just $0.01. The dress has been marked down to a penny after having a retail price of $275. Sound too good to be true? Well Xu then had the manager double check on the dress for her by typing in the SKU into the register, but even after several times, the dress’s price was still just a penny. The retailer decided that they would honor the price, which isn’t too surprising to me because Nordstrom as a retailer has always had a great reputation of doing just that. Xu, however, didn’t need the wedding dress because she wasn’t engaged, but she couldn’t let the dress go to waste. She bought it for a penny and is now giving it away to one of her lucky readers.
