Kerry Washington in Prada
I may have missed the entire show from being at work and out to dinner, but we’d never miss a chance of covering the red carpet.
I can’t believe it’s time already for the most fashionable night of the year! It’s crazy to think that a year has already gone by. I feel like I was making the 2013 post just last month. This year’s theme is White Tie and Decorations.
Of course we’re kicking things off with Queen Bey and Jay.
Beyonce and Jay-Z both in Givenchy Haute Couture
Lupita Nyong’o, in Prada
The red carpet was packed with actors and actresses meant for the best dressed list. We’ve reached the end of the Award Show season (I think) and this was probably the best way to close it out. Lupita has pretty much hit it out of the park for every award show. That alone, should earn her an award.
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture
YES, this is the dress that I would have loved to see Jennifer in at the Golden Globes, but better late than never. We all know that Jennifer is partial to Dior so it’s a no-brainer, but the slim fit and dark color is doing wonders for her on the red carpet. We’re pretty happy with this pick.
Tina Fey in Carolina Herrera and Amy Poehler in custom Stella McCartney
Happy Monday readers! Yesterday brought out some of the best in red carpet wear and along with that…some of the worse. We’re kicking off this red carpet post, however, with the best hosts this show has ever seen. Luckily for us, we get them for another year!
Rachel Bilson and Aubrey Plaza wore the same style of dress to the same event for the movie they both co-starred in. Who wore it better? I’ve never been a huge fan of the peplum most because I’m not sure if I can pull it off myself, but I love Rachel’s pop of blue in her Oscar de la Renta peplum dress. As for the peplum dress that is more versatile, Aubrey takes the cake in her Calvin Klein number. Did the two actresses call each other to plan this look or was it just coincidence?
Which is your favorite and which would you wear? I think I would choose Rachel’s dress!
Could it be? Is America ready for a woman to become President? We just might be! Word on the street is that Hillary Clinton is thinking about running in 2016 and she’s already rounding up her troop of supporters – first with Oscar de la Renta and now Vogue Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour. Oscar de la Renta announced his bid for her candidacy at the recent CFDA awards while Wintour expressed her praise for Clinton yesterday evening at the opening of the Oscar de la Renta retrospective.
Wintour first praised Clinton for “always look[ing] entirely appropriate wherever she was”–quite the about face from the Vogue editor considering that in her February 2008 editor’s letter she wrote, “I do think Americans have moved on from the power-suit mentality, which served as a bridge for a generation of women to reach boardrooms filled with men”–and went on to not-so-subtly hint at a Clinton presidency. “It’s anyone’s guess what the next chapter will be for this extraordinary woman,” Wintour told the crowd. “I can only hope that all of you here in Little Rock will be celebrating her come November 2016.”
It’s the biggest night in fashion of the year and for the past four years, we have been covering the annual Met Gala. This year’s theme was Punk: Chaos to Couture and the celebrities did it well. Here – Dakota Fanning looks phenomenal in Rodarte.

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture
- Lawrence is a Dior girl through and through. Now being the face for the brand, we sure can expect her to be wearing it a lot more than she has already.
[Readers! I'm sorry I missed the live Twitter feed for the red carpet today. I hear this year's stars were on point with their looks. Unfortunately, I had to attend to some personal matters and that was much more important than blogging today. Thanks for your understanding!]
