Seattle Met Roundup

Out on the Town: 10/21 -

To celebrate Seattle’s World Fair, tickets to ride up to the top of the Space Needle will be $1 TOMORROW. That’s a steal! I don’t know how much the original cost is, but it’s not anywhere near that. I also don’t know how long the lines will be tomorrow, which I’m sure they will be long, but YOLO. [Source]

Be sure to catch them while they’re here at El Corazon along with Paper Route and Alabaster.

Tickets are $24 ADV and $29 at doors.

Secret Show For All: Macklemore Edition

In case you haven’t heard, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are playing a free show tonight at Neumos. First of all, this was very short notice announced just this morning and it’s FREE. We all know how much I love free things, but I won’t be attending this show because my fandom for the artist is very low in comparison to…the rest of the Seattle area. And it just wouldn’t be fair for me to take someone else’s spot.

Macklemore is playing a show next Friday at the WaMu theater (capacity: 7,000) as well that is already sold out so basically tonight is for everyone that couldn’t get a ticket. But you better believe those Seattle University students who probably already have tickets to that show will probably mosey on down to Neumos for this free set.

Is it fair? Is life fair?

Enjoy the shows kidlets!

Out on the Town: 10/6-10/7

Is it still summer? Looks like it. It also looks like there’s a few things going on this weekend in my favorite homestead neighborhood of Capitol Hill.

Ping Pong, anyone?

Don’t Talk to the Cops?! YES!

It’s Minus the Bear week y’all!

The band will be performing songs off of their new album Infinity Overhead at Comet Tavern tonight in Capitol Hill. Doors 9pm, 21+ and tickets are $10 with proceeds being matched by Freedom to Marry. This is typically a smaller venue for the band and since no tickets will be sold earlier in the day, just arrive early.

Tomorrow, Minus the Bear  will perform a set at Easy Street Records at 7pm – all ages – and free to celebrate the release of their album.

I love it when the Urban Outfitters stores host events like this. It just adds so much more to the overall brand and allows their space to become more versatile.

Out on the Town: 7/4

It may be a little bit too early to secure plans for the 4th of July, but who doesn’t like to be prepared? For the past several years, I have been celebrating the 4th in or around Seattle. Last year,  I think a few of my friends and I had watched the fireworks from underneath a freeway overpass by Volunteer Park. It’s not as sketch as it sounds. This year, however, I might just be having my very own adventure for the 4th for the first time in five years!

No word yet on what that might be, but regardless, Seattle is going to be bumpin’ this year.

Two of my favorite Seattle bands, Pickwick and Hey Marseilles will be performing for the 4th of July festivities at a popular spot for the holiday: Gasworks Park.

Make sure you get there early because these two bands are absolutely amazing.

Out on the Town: 3/17

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone!

On our way to Yogurtland today, Anna and I walked pass the new gelato shop, D’Ambrosio Gelato, set to open their doors starting tomorrow at 5PM! I believe it’s just a soft opening for now, but that’s no reason to not visit it. Like a little kid, I put both my hands up ready to press them up against the glass when I saw the interior of the shop completely finished. I actually thought it was open at first until…I noticed that no one was inside and there was no gelato.

It’s cool – it’s all happening tomorrow. No worries. The shop is on 12th and Pine just right up the street from Molly Moon’s!

- dun – dun – dun!

Out on the Town: 3/12

To celebrate the Girl Scouts’ 100th anniversary, Molly Moon’s will be giving out free kid-sized scoops of their classic Scout Mint all day starting at noon!

OH MY Goodness. And if that news doesn’t melt your heart and warm your stomach enough, then the Girl Scouts themselves will be selling their cookies and greeting customers outside of the shops beginning at 3PM.

Adorable.

Out on the Town: 3/10

Lana Del Rey is comin’ to town y’all! She’ll be singing and signing autographs at Easy Street Records on Queen Anne this Saturday at 2PM. It’s free and all ages and you get to see her in the flesh!

Somebody please go to this and let me know how it is. I would love to hear all about how she performs live and if she is as awkward as she once was on SNL.

Out on the Town: 3/8

This isn’t really an Out on the Town post, but this is happening today and it involves food. I like food so… [these logic statements are specifically for Veronica cause she thinks my logic is solid.] Taco Bell will be rolling out their new Doritos Locos Tacos today and apparently this is life changing! I don’t usually eat at Taco Bell because I’ve been a Taco Time girl for too many years, but even I would try this.

Not planning on sleeping? Watch the countdown here.
