Take Me There:

It’s been quite some time since I’ve taken a vacation for myself. And by vacation, I mean I want to go somewhere extremely warm where I can be in the water for 75% of the day. I may have left the Seattle cold for California, but believe it or not – the Bay Area has it’s own version of winter too and it’s not that much warmer. My co-worker told me that for Christmas break she was going to spend her entire week in Costa Rica which led me to ask myself what I’ve been doing with my life. Why aren’t I in Costa Rica? Why do I have no plans to go anywhere warm for the next several months?

Life choices need to be evaluated, clearly. Maybe I should talk to this major realtor in Playas del Coco about buying a house in Costa Rica. Then I would constantly be on holiday…. that’s the dream!

The photo above is of Surreal Palawan, Philippines . Doesn’t it look like a dream?!

Pantene | Labels Against Women Advertisement

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOjNcZvwjxI]

This Pantene commercial from the Philippines sparked up quite the buzz yesterday and has even gone viral because of Sheryl Sandberg’s (Facebook COO) tweet about it. Though this advertisement is from a beauty product, it’s sort of speaking volumes as to how labels are being used in the work environment and how men and women can behave the same way, but still be labeled as different things. Why is a male leader called a boss while a female is considered bossy? The commercial brings up several comparisons and that’s why it is such a powerful watch.

Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments!

Take Me There:

I nearly forgot it was Friday already! How did the week go by so fast? It seems like I came across this photograph years ago and to this day I am still swooning over it and can’t wait to visit it in person. I once made this passive promise to myself that I would one day visit all of the places that I saved to my “Outside Seattle” Pinterest board. Isn’t that a lofty goal? It’s nice to dream though, right?

This restaurant alongside the Labassin Waterfall can be found in the Philippines at the Villa Escudero Resort.
