Ojai Adventuring

We really love weddings. We also really love weddings that happen to be at a destination because it always allows us to explore another place that we’e never been to! Exploring Ojai with Erika was so much fun. What a cute little town! The morning/afternoon before a wedding, I usually like to take it pretty easy – that goes for both makeup and the outfit. The morning of, I tossed on my favorite casual black dress from Brandy, my sandals, and my purse. Since it was such a nice day, I felt weird wearing all black so I tied on a red bandana that has been my favorite accessory for the spring/summer season. In the photo, it looks a little funny, but I promise it looks so much better in person!

Berry and Lavender

Dress – Brandy Melville / Sandals – Qupid @ Moorea Seal

These outfit posts are all from the summer, but in an attempt to catch up with the times today, you’ll be seeing a lot more of these lately! I actually don’t normally wear lipstick to work, but I think it adds a little something when we are photographed with it on so when possible, we try to do a quick swipe right before we head out for a shoot. I love the color combination of the berry on my lips, the pastel lavender dress and these tan sandals from Moorea Seal’s boutique in Seattle that I was obsessed with this past summer. I also stock up on dresses from Brandy Melville because they are no fuss and easy to throw on for any summer day. It’s also pretty easy to dress it up or down as well.

Craving Creamsicles

Dress – Urban Outfitters / Sandals – by Qupid purchased at Moorea Seal boutique in Seattle

Just when we thought we had run out of shooting locations in Mountain View, we came across this gem of a wall. I must’ve worn these sandals 6 out of the 7 days during the week and this was a dress that I bought years ago that I decided to bring back to life. It was tucked away in my closet next to a bunch of other dresses that I hadn’t touched in awhile and at one point, thought that I would donate it. I at least didn’t think it was a good fit for the summer because the fabric feels more like it is for fall and winter, but we made it work. Let’s just call it the dress for all seasons. This scarf was given to me by my mom and I had never worn this all together before, but it’s quite a match isn’t it?

Summer Uniform

Dress – Urban Outfitters / Sandals – Qupid purchased at Moorea Seal in Seattle

I felt like I was a little bit under pressure writing this post because this really was my summer uniform, but this week felt more like fall than anything else! I wanted to get this dress into a post before we completely shifted seasons. Summer in the Bay Area is so easy. There were so many days where all I had to do was throw on a dress, my favorite pair of sandals and if I had some extra time – wave my hair. I’m going to miss how seamless this all was, but I’m really looking forward to fall and bundling up in layers. It’s been extra cold in the office lately and outside so those chunky sweaters are what I’m longing for.
