Thought Catalog Roundup

Something that really excites me about these posts every week (and I’ll only say it one time and one time only) is that if there is ever an inappropriate title, I will try to disguise it in the best way I know how. Now you know my secret! Some friends of mine have recently been telling me that these Thought Catalog roundups are a favorite of theirs on Yow Yow! because not only are they interesting reads written by 20-somethings, but they also help my friends find perspective in their own lives. And hey! They help me too so I’m glad that we are all mutually benefiting from this. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend everyone!

PS I also forgot to mention last week that when I select these posts, I also like to choose ones that are kind of controversial. You’ll know it when you read it!

In Case You Missed It…

“If you only make bad decisions for the rest of your life, you made one really good decision.”

– Justin Timberlake, on marrying “best friend” Jessica Biel, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

I posted this earlier this week in video form, but in case you missed it – here it is a second time in just simple quote form.

A Collection Part 35

It used to take me over six months to go back to a blog that I haven’t visited in a while. With my new routine and schedule and the absence of homework, I am able to get through my blogs a lot quicker which frees up more time for me to be creative and to spend more time on posts that mean a lot to me instead of just posting and being done with it. Most of the photographs in this A Collection post came from one blog and go figure it’s called Thriving Twenties so of course we can relate hence why we love it.

I have been waiting to share this sweet bi-coastal wedding with all of you! Last year, Jess + Russ created a website for their love story that every girl swooned over so it’s no surprise now that they’ve got a wedding video to top all wedding videos.

Happy Monday morning everyone!

Conversations From 20-Somethings

tumblr_l8gpqksUW71qzuhd2o1_500

When you’re a senior about to graduate from college, you sort of expect to hear advice from your older friends revolving around finding a job, keeping a work/life balance, and budgeting. I never expected to hear that dating outside of college would be difficult, but it made sense. For however many years we were in school, we were constantly surrounded by people whether it was in classes, events, college parties, friends of friends etc. Outside of college though, you have to learn how to put yourself out there and accept that by now you did not stay together with your high school/college sweetheart. Instead, you may just meet your future significant other in the strangest places or god forbid – online or in a bar. While those are kind of the standard these days, it’s important to note that it’s not that conventional in some of our parents’ eyes.

Dating is not easy. In fact some of my friends have told me that they actually hate it. It can be uncomfortable, awkward, and completely misconstrued. This morning, I had a conversation with Veronica and Charles about dating that made me realize that our  genders were on COMPLETELY different pages. It was on the opposite end of the spectrum that I figured – this had to be discussed on Yow Yow!

Thought Catalog Roundup

I’ve been doing Thought Catalog roundups since last year, but I’m not sure if I’ve ever really prefaced these posts with any of my own words. Some people have read these posts and ask me, “Is this what you’re feeling right now?” “Can you relate to these posts in some way?” “Are you trying to say some kind of hidden message with the posts you pick?” And I’ve never described my process with how I choose these posts so let me just clear things up. No, I am not going through all of these things that I post about. I love Thought Catalog and I love its relevancy towards 20-somethings. I don’t post up every post that happens throughout the week – only my favorites. I choose them because maybe in some ways I can relate or maybe I think it’s funny or applicable to people that would find some benefit in these posts, but most of the time I select certain posts because in my opinion, I think it’s good writing. There is no motive for me to post certain Thought Catalog posts so don’t you worry. You can, however, assume that  each post made me feel something a little bit extra when reading it.

23 Things You Can Say Good-Bye To Now That Charlie Is Leaving “Girls”

I’ve never really been that great at saying goodbyes. I especially hate saying goodbyes to things I shouldn’t to say goodbye to – like Charlie leaving “Girls.” It has been eating up inside all week because a “Girls” episode without Charlie? Well, why bother watching, right? BuzzFeed compiled a list of 23 things we can now say goodbye to now that Charlie is leaving “Girls” and it pretty much just confirms my thoughts on this. NO ONE WANTS THIS TO HAPPEN.
