Prayers for Seattle Pacific University

I was shocked to hear this afternoon about an hour after it happened that another school shooting had taken place and this time at Seattle Pacific University. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire SPU community.

It is a tragedy for an incident like this to happen just one week before these students graduate. This kind of memory is not how any student should end their college career and I am heartbroken for the students and the families of these students because they are not able to have the celebration that they truly deserve.

We can post on social media all we want and write a number of blog posts about incidents like these. I feel like I addressed the UCSB shooting just a couple weeks ago (because I actually did.) but it doesn’t change anything. I want to know what it’s really going to take for people to start taking action and to make a stand on gun control. I understand the frustration that people are feeling from this and my only hope is that this can be resolved soon.

I hope that we can all reach a point one day where we don’t have to write about our feelings on this on social media and blog posts because by then the voices have already been heard.
