The Closet: August 2020

[Society6 Whimsical Sky Face Mask] – $16.99 – $13.59

This is quite possibly the bulkiest Closet post we’ve created in awhile! The good thing though is the pieces are all at the intersection of summer and fall. I’m also convinced that there’s something in here for everyone and at varying price points. Even a lot of the summer-y pieces can be transformed for fall wear. For example, the jumpsuit below? Pop a chunky sweater over it and you’ve got a look. We’ve been doing a lot of shopping lately ourselves so even though I’ve shared all of these here with you, I personally need to refrain from buying these myself. Enjoy!

[Abercrombie & Fitch Tie-Front Jumpsuit] – $79 – $47.40

Inspirational Posters For Your Newly Inspired Self

We are more than halfway through January, but it’s still the first month of the year. Hopefully your resolutions are still intact. If you’re starting to sluff a little bit, I am here to tell you that you CAN do it. Whatever it is that you think you can’t do – you actually can. I am a huge fan of inspirational posters. In fact, I am a fan of inspiration words, pictures, and people too. A little over a week ago, I decided to make an inspirational wall at my desk because this was the place where I felt most creative. It’s also the place where I get most distracted from my work, but this wall that I am now forced to look at it brings me right back to where I need to be.

Throughout my elementary, middle school, and high school career, I was forced to look at these uninspired posters in my classrooms of random sayings and animals. Animals are great, but why look at those when posters these days have really stepped up their game.

The “To Resolve Project” has a collection of posters up on their website, but will be collaborating with my favorite Society 6’ers soon enough!

Here are just a few of my favorite picks!

Cory Roberts

Riley Cran

Shane Harris

Inka Mathew

Society6 for Urban Outfitters

Mr. Bears – $15

As you may have remembered, I spent nearly a month searching for the perfect prints to purchase from Society6. After perusing the site day in and day out, I finally set my sights on three that I knew I would cherish forever. I mean – they certainly cost enough for me to. One of my biggest concerns was that I would choose the prints too soon and then miss out on the prints that would appear later on the site, but I had to come to terms that eventually there was always going to be a better print. Sure enough, Society6 has got some new prints up in Urban Outfittersprint shop, and of course – I happen to want all of them. Here are some of my current favorites!

Society6 Pt. 2

(kindness is strength so be nice)

About a year ago, I wrote a post about how I was planning to redecorate by purchasing several prints by Society6 to frame and hang. Well – that year has passed and my walls are longing for those prints. Ergo – round two. And this time I mean it! For those of you who do not know what it is, Society6 is sort of an online marketplace for artists selling prints. These prints can be framed, made into iPhone skins, t-shirts etc, but I just want to put them up on my walls. The prints are designed by local artists from all over the world and are sold at affordable prices in different sizes. If you’re ever looking for a piece to spruce up your place, make sure you look to Society6 first. Get something you want out of it and support the artist. Everyone wins!

I’ve decided – this time around I came up with a plan – that I am searching for three different prints to purchase.

1 Print
1 Photography
1 Typography

And when I finally get them, I’ll make sure to post them up here so you can see which ones I chose!

Way Up High #2 – prices vary by size of print

Right now, I’m a huge fan of prints. I’m looking to redecorate with many of them – each in a different style and of different types. Most people like to put up paintings or photographs of family members and friends, but for some reason I’m not so much into that. I’ve found some of my favorite prints at Urban Outfitters, but those are a little pricey so I may just find some others ones to blow up and frame myself.

Urban Outfitters’ print collection exclusively online is called Society6 and features International artists from over 70 countries worldwide. In addition to turning these prints into hanging art, they can also be transformed into iPhone, iPod, and laptop skins. Here are just a few of my favorites:
