Have You Been to an Outdoor Concert Lately?

It has been almost ten years since I have been to a concert that took place in a huge arena. Aside from the fact that I generally prefer music festivals to the one headliner – one opener combo, I just don’t have any interest in being in such a vast space with not so great viewing with the tickets I could only afford at the time. I will, however, shovel out my money for an outdoor festival. There is nothing better than having the best of both worlds by watching your favorite acts and being outside in a beautiful venue during the summer, wouldn’t you agree?

Flavorwire has highlighted some of the best outdoor venues in America and these photographs are absolutely amazing!

So who can guess the featured venue above?

Dave Matthews Band Caravan

Instead of performing his usual set at The Gorge Labor Day Weekend at the end of the summer, Dave Matthews will be footing his first mini music festival. How cute.

C’mon like anyone really believed that he would be “taking a summer off.”

Don’t get me wrong – I have nothing against Dave. I’m sure that his shows are incredible. It’s just every summer I always here “DAVE!! OH MY GOSH DAVE MATTHEWS LABOR DAY WEEKEND! Best weekend EVVVA!” and I’m wondering how can you get so excited about something that happens every single summer? Same lineup – same place – nothing ever changes.

Glad to hear that he has decided to share the stage this year though with some incredible supporting acts.

Nice one, bro.

Spiraled and Smoke

This weekend, my friends will either be at Warped Tour ’09 at the Gorge or at Hempfest at the three locations, Myrtle Edwards Park, Elliott Bay Park, or the Olympic Sculpture Park.

Where will you be?!

It’s the month of music and festivals

Sasquatch. Folk Life. Seattle University’s Quadstock. University of Washington’s free concert on the HUB are all occurring in the month of May.

Seattle’s summer music festivals Capital Hill Block Party and Bumbershoot are releasing more of their lineup during this time.

Therefore, I give you this new header for May.

Sasquatch

I was too caught up in fashion week that I forgot to post this. The lineup was just announced this week! I’ve never really considered going just because 1) the lineup was never something spectacular to me 2) I don’t like making the trek to the Gorge and 3) Camping is not my thing but there is one reason and one reason only for me to go out to the Gorge that Monday. (JUST THAT MONDAY)
