Adam Brody – Age 32 And Still The Best Looking Nerd Ever

I can’t exactly explain why Adam Brody is my dream crush. I mean I could try to explain, but I’m not sure if it would make sense to anyone. Adam Brody as Seth Cohen was a freakin’ dreamboat. He loved Death Cab For Cutie. Hello – Death Cab For Cutie is like the anthem band for any Seattle resident. Seth Cohen was all into his comic books. I knew my X-Men characters. His hobbies included skateboarding, boating, and being stealth. I’m not into any one of those things, but I can learn to appreciate it.

If Adam Brody would reprise his role as Seth Cohen in his own series, I would watch it. It has been five years, but his appeal has not faltered one bit.

The actor was recently featured in this spread for GQ and he looks damn good. Just sayin’…

Jennifer’s Body

Adam Brody’s performance as the front man of a band called “Low Shoulder” in this film was absolutely ridiculous and very unrealistic. It was almost enough to make me write him off for good, but then I remembered that this movie received poor reviews and that normalcy will return tomorrow morning at 10AM when I get to see him as Seth Cohen again.

Say what you will about The OC, but this show introduced everyone to some of the best musicians and bands.

He Can’t Be Avoided

photo cred | TV Guide

This morning, while watching The OC reruns on The Soap Network, I found Chris Brown playing a character opposite Willa Holland ie) Kaitlin Cooper.

I can’t get away from him! He would find a way to appear on one of my favorite retired shows…

What New Year’s Eve Party Are You Going To?

pic cred: The Daily What

Oh…this one!

Just kidding, I don’t actually have my New Year’s Eve plans figured out yet. This fake New Year’s Eve flier was passed around the interwebz today and as funny as it is reading it, we all know that there’s an 80% chance of these scenarios happening.

I’ve got a love/hate relationship with the holiday. In the past couple of years, my celebration has been pretty tame. Last year, I was sick. Two years ago, Samantha and I played third and fourth wheel to our best friend and previous boyfriend’s evening. There was some dinner at a nice restaurant involved and a showing of a British or Australian zombie movie on TV with a title that could have been confused with a porno.

This year, I’m going into it with no expectations or at least lowered expectations. New Year’s Eve is a classy holiday, but yet I always find that it is ruined by schmammeredness and dresses that are not fit for the evening or – dresses that just don’t fit (right). My plans may be up in the air right now, but I’ll do you a solid and make you proud.

Happy New Year everyone!

When the Soap Network Has My Back

I used to think that there was no reason for me to have this channel. Then they aired an old episode of The OC and it all came together.

Happy Birthday!

Happy 30th Birthday to Rachel Bilson and Happy 24th Birthday to Blake Lively!

Don’t they kind of seem like they’re around the same age to you? Rachel Bilson will return to television this fall with her new CW show “Hart of Dixie” while Blake Lively is still dating Leonardo DiCaprio.

I really wish she would just reprise her role as Summer Roberts though. Seth Cohen take her back.

Nerd Herd

On the season finale of The Glee Project, my favorite contestant Cameron returned for the final episode. While I was extremely happy that Damien took home the win, I don’t think I paid that much attention to him as much as I focused on the scenes Cameron was actually in. Bree and I agreed last night that while it is obvious that he is talented, there is definitely something that draws our eye towards him throughout the entire episode. Sure, it’s his voice and the hipster attire, but another part of me thinks that it is because he represents a group of people  that has never been a part of the in crowd: the nerds. There’s no one like him on Glee or even on television right now.

As we all know, I’ve got a pretty sweet spot for the nerds – as do many girls. Can you really find a reason to not like one? I mean, have you ever seen a douchey nerd? And I’m not talking about those pretentious characters in television shows, I mean in real life. They don’t exist! They never cheat, except for that one episode of Saved By the Bell. They are known for being the shy smart types. They’ve got a type of style that isn’t mainstream and they always seem to know what’s going on before everyone else. A blogger’s dream right? Today, I learned from HelloGiggles that there’s actually a distinction between geek, nerd and dork. Who knew, right?

In short:

“Geek- Smart but not awkward
Nerd- Smart and awkward
Dork- Smart in less useful areas, awkward but proud regardless”

Feel free to read the rest of the article here:

What I also recognized today was the similarities between a nerd and a hipster. The same transition process occurs when scenesters become hipster. In this case, you start out being a nerd and develop into a full-grown adult-sized hipster. I’ve decided to highlight some of my favorite nerds in this post, but I’ll let you be the judge as to whether or not they are really as hip as they appear to be.

[Cameron Mitchell – The Glee Project right]

I think I’ve talked enough about Cameron in the text above so I won’t exhaust you anymore. He is basically the proudest nerd I have ever seen promoting the “Nerd Herd” in his YouTube videos, on the television series, and even in his music.

[Michael Cera]

Self-explanatory.

Can These Couples Get Back Together?

[Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron]

The amount of time I spend invested in celebrity gossip is sometimes really embarrassing. I take that back. It’s extremely embarrassing, but at the same time I have no shame. I can’t explain why I have such strong feelings towards why I believe certain celebrity couples should be together, but I do! It stirs up some emotions and signs of hope in me I guess! I’m going to stop writing before I say something that will be used against me by my friends later on though.

A Collection Part 24

Happy summer everyone! This collection post revolves around several themes this time around including youth and celebrating gay pride. Last week, we celebrated pride in Seattle and the rainbow flag is still hanging up in nearly every other business around here! Also – since it’s been three months since the last collection post, the pictures have accumulated so when I originally started working on this, I had close to 200 pictures in one post. Not wanting to freeze your computers from loading all of them, I’ve decided to split it. There are 100 pictures in this post and in another week I will post A Collection Part 25. Hopefully this is easier for all of you to see, but you’ll also be getting another one in a week as opposed to waiting three months again!

Have a happy Fourth of July everyone!
