2. A perfect Croque Madame at Cafe Presse for my Sunday brunch

3. Mine and the boy’s first trip to Costco together and a hot dog for me on him. Quite the catch.

Alexander Wang Home Decor

a wang teddy

photo cred | Alexander Wang

It’s always pretty exciting when a designer you recognize dives into something a little bit different than the norm. Whether it’s a capsule collection, Target collaboration, etc. as consumers we like to be in the know for what our favorite designers are planning next. By now, Alexander Wang has become a household name. Of course his collections are ones to be admired, but who could ever forget his darling little niece?! Aside from those two things, he has now decided to venture into home decor and summer accessories and if you didn’t know his name was tied to it in the first place, the collection literally SCREAMS Alexander Wang.

Everything is in signature Wang black.

Check out the rest of the collection here.

Toast Hands

I always joke with my friends that I suffer from a little something I like to call “Cold Hand Syndrome.” Since I’m always using my mouse with my laptop, only one of my hands has the opportunity to stay warm underneath a blanket or tucked into my sleeve, but the other hand? Well, one of them has to take it for the team and freeze on the mouse.

I really like the creation of Toasty Hands because I hope it will work, but also… TOAST. ON. MY. HANDS.

Just lol, really.

Birchbox For Home

I have always wanted to try the original Birchbox – a company that ships you the latest in beauty products on a monthly basis straight to your front door. Being someone that loves samples, Birchbox allows their customers to not only test new products on the market, but discover what works best for you. Plus, you never know when you might need to switch up that moisturizer or throw in the towel on the same brand or color of nail polish for the past five years. I look at Birchbox as a revival.

Since the company has become very successful through beauty and lifestyle products, they are now diving into…wait for it… HOME products for a seasonal special! This is something that I can get very excited about considering that I am always decorating lately. Birchbox Home will feature goodies for your kitchen including ingredients, tools, and other little accessories.

Want. Please. Christmas. Hi.

Whiskey Advent Calendar

As much as I love the act of gift giving, I’ve gotta be honest. I am not always the best gift giver. The process leading up to it can be so stressful and pressurized and I become a little bit of a worrier about it. I’m an oddball because I’m not even great at accepting gifts, which is probably why I’ve just been receiving gift cards ever since I was a teenager. Well anyways, this year we’re reaching new levels of milestones. This Christmas, there will be one more additional gift to give and let’s hope I don’t mess this one up.

I found this Whiskey Advent Calendar off of Cool Material today and this isn’t necessarily a Christmas gift because…it’s an advent calendar, but to each their own, right?

It costs $240.

Lifestraw

This is a very Hunger Games like – post. I drink water all of the time, but I am totally one of those people who is often skeptical about where it might come from. Having been used to filtered water for the past four years, it’s pretty much all that I am comfortable with. Oh  that and restaurants, you know?

LifeStraw removes a minimum of 99.99999% of waterborne bacteria and can filter up to 1000L of water. The 2oz straw contains no chemicals and no batteries and was named a Time Magazine Invention of the Year.

Planning an intense camping trip sometime soon? Not trusting of the water in anyone’s home or restaurant? LifeStraw, y’all.

Hipster Dust

I’d be lying to you if I told you I went through college at Seattle University in the neighborhood of Capitol Hill (or what I call Hipster Nation) without trying to become a little bit more hipster with every year. The truth is, I not-so-secretly loved it. The culture, the food, the dress, the mysterious demeanor. But I’m not that hipster and I probably won’t ever be because I might be a little too manic pixie.

So when I was browsing Cool Material and found this post about Hipster Dust, I instantly became excited only to find out that it wouldn’t increase my hipster points – just the flavor in my food.

I don’t know what it is. I don’t know what it will taste good on, but I want it. I hear you can get a sample for just one cent without any shipping charges. Ummmm…Done.

Fashion Icon: Waldo

Not only was Waldo one of my favorite characters as a kid, he was also an underrated fashion icon. Waldo rocked the classic denim, the striped shirt, and the hipster glasses before they were even deemed hipster. As for the denim and the stripes? Well, everyone is still wearing them so that pretty much says it all. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Waldo, one of my favorite brands, Warby Parker, created a pair of glasses so that we can all emulate the stylish character. Check out the details here.
