I know the name of the blog sort of has a negative connotation, but the home decor photographs are so pretty, it makes me think that the meaning is just the opposite! Prepare to lust over the best furniture and home inspiration ever here.

How well can you match your colors? I actually tried this last night when I was about to fall asleep at my desk and received a disappointing score of 5.5 – extremely happy to say that I have since raised that score since I took it when I was wide awake and alert. 6.3 is still pretty unfortunate, but it’s a whole lot better than the original.
If you are bored at work or trying to put off school stuff, this will do the job. Try the color test here.
UPDATE: 11:38 PM – I just got a 7.3

It’s a really nice feeling when you discover that you are not alone. I am not the only one that sucks at taking pictures of food and now there is a Tumblr dedicated to that.

Voila! Instant time waster distraction of the day!

Shapes. Circles. Color. Very Small Array is an extremely pretty website displaying trivia in infographics. It covers a wide variety of topics, but its minimalistic approach will probably keep me coming back from more!
Everyone has their own methods of studying. As a kid, I used to surround myself in the most hectic situations while doing homework. As soon as it was time to hit the books, I made sure I had a snack in front of me, the television on, and headphones in my ears playing music from my mini pink iPod. Oh those were the times…When I finally got to college, I studied in high traffic areas so that I could people watch. How I ever managed to get work done still amazes me to this day. These days, I’ve eliminated most of the clutter and am strictly just about the music. Spotify, iTunes, We Are Hunted – I pick one and call it good. I just discovered a new streaming website though that I think most of you will enjoy called Indie Shuffle. Looking for new music or new a soundtrack to study to? Try it out!
Good luck on midterms everyone!
Night night Yow Yow! My never ending notes are calling my name!
Meet your new time waster. It’s so ridiculous, all you can really do is laugh.

I am not a baker, but I love the idea of baking! If you put any kind of dessert in front of me, I will eat it up. They can be as simple as chocolate chip cookies or as complex as bananas foster. I actually don’t know if that is a complicated dessert, but I am only making this assumption because it involves a flame.
Sweet treats are my weakness as I’m sure they are with many other people in this world, but sadly I may never be the person that will be responsible for making them – only eating them. I recently came across a blog that made me start to drool right at my desk. (Not really though, I’m not a two-year old.) Raspberri Cupcakes is a dessert blog that is filled with the most mouthwatering treats you have ever seen in one place. In addition to the photographs of desserts, Steph (the blogger) has included along with them the exact recipes to recreate the treats right from your own kitchen.
YUM!
PS! Pie Day is Monday, January 21st and I couldn’t be more excited. Pie slices for lunch and dinner please. And dessert.

The “New Girl” actress is celebrating her birthday today! In addition to having her very own sitcom on FOX, Zooey is one half of She & Him and one of the founders of my favorite blog – Hello Giggles. Triple threat Zooey! What will she do next?
It’s been a rainy past couple of days here in Seattle so I figured if I couldn’t get the sun here in the city, I could envision it with a song.
I also wanted to take this time to introduce to you a new website I discovered last night called Tubalr. It works as sort of an extension off of YouTube by giving you the video you are looking for when searching for an artist/band/song without all the frills and thrills! It’s simple to use and hopefully will help me avoid some of those random videos that I get of awkward picture slideshows and lyrics or a really bad cover.
Try it out! I’ll definitely be using it from now when picking my Songs of the Day.
As a freshman, my English lit professor told me that she believed the theme of my year was passion. It was all over my writing apparently, but I just never noticed. I’ve remembered many things that she has taught me about, but this is one that I will never forget. As I reflected back on my college years last night, I realized that I’ve had a new theme since then for every school year and that I have this professor to thank for that.
I may have started my college career with passion, but I would like to end it with creation. To create something is extremely powerful to me. It’s the idea of creating something with my hands, with my work, and with myself. Everything I’ve ever done is leading up to this moment right here. While on my daily reads last night, I found two inspirational pieces revolving around this theme and I wanted to share it with all of you!
This post is very similar to the resolution one, but I promise this is my last post having to do with the end of the year and the start of the year.

I know that this is itty bitty, but you’ve got to check out this infographic on “How to Live a Creative Life.” Just click the image above for a larger version by Fast Company.
I may be jumping on this band wagon pretty late in the game, but I have recently become obsessed with Thought Catalog. In fact, I will be visiting it more frequently these days as I have added it to the list of blogs I read daily. I am especially a huge fan of their recent post “20 New Year’s Resolutions For 20-Somethings” because it looks like the type of conversation I would have with my own friends. Looking at this resolution list for my appropriate age group kind of sort of makes me want to throw my little list out the window because Jessie Rosen knows what she is talking about.
Resolution that I will absolutely follow:
Resolution that I will not follow:
Resolution that was made specifically for college students:
As described by Josh Spear, “Cowbird” is the public library of human experience. Take that in for a second. Whenever I come across something I don’t understand or have yet to experience myself, I immediately run to Google. While Google is a great source, articles can not always convey the same message as in a story. Cowbird gives meaning to these experiences through media. Stories are shared by real people themselves and this is what makes the entire website so beautiful. I truly believe that it’s projects like these that bring us closer to people and again with the communication vocab – of Global Village – make us feel as if relationships can be established with disregard to distance.

-Two important questions: Are you living in LA? Do you eat, breathe, and sleep for design? Bri Emery, the founder of one of my favorite websites, Design Love Fest, is looking for an intern! The gig sounds awesome plus you get to learn some of the best tips from Bri herself and she’s a genius basically. [Source]
- On another note, Win-A-Trip 2012 is now happening and accepting entries! If you’re a university student and are interested in traveling of some sort, Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times is selecting one student to come along for the ride. The trip will be from 10 days to two weeks and the student selected should be able to communicate and document their travels via v-log or blog. The details are too lengthy for me to regurgitate here so if you’re interested, click here! The deadline is January 22nd, 2012.
