Wedding Mondays

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/75259949]

Happy Monday morning, everyone! We’re creeping up on what will be a very busy next couple of weeks, but I couldn’t be more excited. I’m thrilled to be celebrating my birthday in a new home this year, taking my first ever vacation in a job, and going on a trip with the people I enjoy working with everyday! It’s an exciting time to turn 24. I’m actually also very excited that the video I’m sharing with you today is kind of like a part of my life going full circle. Normally, I would prefer a wedding video, but this time we’re doing a slow-motion photo booth. It’s one of the better ones I’ve seen because I think I’d like to be friend with every single person featured in it AND even more importantly the wedding take places in Seattle and features USnaps – another vendor that I have worked with previously in my college days. The slow motion photo booth was done by another company, but that’s okay – USnaps was still there to provide the instant snapshot.

And here’s the Style Me Pretty featured post here.

Hip Weddings

There are two things that I love this summer and that is:

a) the hipster way of life

b) weddings

Unfortunately, for me there are no weddings for me to attend this summer, which is heartbreaking because I absolutely love them. Who doesn’t? Open bar…cake…dance floor – I like to call it the ultimate party because no matter what, no one leaves unhappy. You know what else I like? Hipster culture. Not many people know what this means and I am not even sure if I’m able to truly define it. To me, it means the opposite of doing mainstream. You do something a little unconventional a little less traditional and incredibly unforgettable. So I found this great article today on Flavorwire called “How to Throw a Hipster Wedding in Five Easy Steps.”

Typically people like to associate grunge with hipster because they don’t know any better. Psh don’t worry we won’t judge you I guess. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading this article, but as I got more and more into it I realized that I loved the ideas I was reading about! They’re not just for hipsters to like, they’re ones that everyone will love. A lacy wedding dress, unique invitations, cupcakes and cookies, videography.

By the way, I just decided that at my wedding I will be having a USnaps photo booth for all of my guests. I have had the opportunity to use them now in two events and have loved it! I’ve still got a long way though!

Fall Ball ’09

fall ball fish bubbles

This year, I had the opportunity of being a part of a great organization, Student Events and Activities Council (SEAC) planning Seattle University’s annual Fall Ball dance! Kind of a different change from the usual concert planning, but it’s going to be a great event and we’re all very excited for it.

Seattle University students: This is FOR YOU, and you don’t want to miss it.

Tickets $10 at the CAC and at our table tonight in C-Street from 5-7PM – – – – $12 at the door

Transportation is provided from the school to the Aquarium starting at 7:30 at Pigott.

Here’s what we have to offer.

  • A free sea otter show for the first 150 people to arrive for the show at 8:30 PM
  • Open exhibits allowing you to explore the Aquarium. Usually it would cost $16, you’re getting a deal.
  • 21+ area in the underwater dome
  • An awesome photobooth w/ USnaps. They will upload all pictures taken from the event onto their website and using the given code, we will be able to access all pictures within 24 hours online. What up new Facebook defaults!
  • DJ provided by The Sound Factory
  • An opportunity to dress up semi-formal style (a rare treat at Seattle U) Girls will be looking their best in their dresses and guys will be lookin’ fly!!

The Aquarium is a beautiful space, so please come take a night off away from campus to join us.

Frequently asked question of all time: Can you bring a guest that is a non-Seattle University student?

Katie’s answer: Every Seattle University student is allowed to bring one non-Seattle University student. Please have your guest bring one form of ID with them if they are under 21 ie) license/passport. If your guest is over 21, they must bring two forms of ID (license/passport)

Reminder: Read the back of your ticket, there’s text there too!

A few things to remember before you leave for Fall Ball:

No bags. Girls will be allowed to bring clutches

Seattle University students must bring their ID

We reserve the right to deny admittance to or remove anyone who appears intoxicated to the point of ridiculousness or goes against the code of conduct. STAY CLASSY. Do not embarrass our school. The Aquarium is a great space and we would like to remain a great relationship with them.

No vomiting. It’s disgusting. We’ll make you clean it up.
