Valentine’s Day Wants

There’s one guy friend every year that comes to me – sweat forming on his forehead and completely overwhelmed with the pressures of having to buy his girl a Valentine’s Day present. You would think that by your 20’s you would’ve nailed this already. Wrong. It’s okay though, I don’t mind helping out my boys because of course, we know this holiday like the back of our hand. As a girl myself and a girl that loves gifts, when I put myself into this situation as the receiver, it seems fairly easy. However, I recognize that some girls just aren’t like me and might be expecting more so the only way to really write this gift guide is just to share all the things that I would want! Don’t worry – I’ll include some variety so hopefully one of these things will land you in good graces.

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015

Since the entire fashion show is such a huge televised production, the actual show is filmed almost a month early before it actually airs on CBS. There’s a whole lot to be excited about revolving the show including our favorite Lily Aldridge in the Fantasy Bra, performances by Ellie Goulding, Selena Gomez, and The Weeknd, and Kendall and Gigi’s debut on the VS runway. Here are our favorite looks below – NSFW probably.

Karlie Kloss is Leaving Victoria’s Secret

Just as she was rising to the top of Victoria’s Secret stardom, Karlie Kloss is preparing to make her exit. It was reported last week that the angel is indeed walking away from all the VS modeling gigs and trading in those wings for a bunch of school books. This fall, Karlie will officially be a student at New York University! Hooray! She’s not quitting modeling for good, however, but as you might imagine, a contract with Victoria’s Secret takes up a fair amount of time. At least she’s walking away with four Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows under her belt. While at NYU, Karlie will be enrolled at Gallatin School of Individualized Study and word on the street was that former supermodel Christy Turlingtun Burns was the one who actually wrote Karlie’s letter of recommendation. Awwww. It’s hard to believe she’s just 22 because the girl seems much wiser beyond her years. We’re excited for her education and what she’ll do next!

This year, the current Victoria’s Secret Angels did a lip-sync to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.” No surprises there as she’s pals with at least two of the angels – Karlie Kloss and Lily Aldridge. Taylor Swift will also be performing on the special tomorrow as well.

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2014 Pt. 1

The special may have been filmed today, but we still have a whole week until the show debuts on our televisions! Luckily, we’ve been granted with some snapshots so there’s no way that we couldn’t share it. I know some girls really hate the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show because blah blah watching it makes girls feel bad about themselves and people feel like they should eat a burger, but no. You do you. Let the angels be who they are! They may be naturally skinny (they can’t help that!) or they just want to work out that much – whatever the case, we’re in no place to make assumptions or pass judgements. You should not let people that have different bodies from you make you feel bad. That’s just crazy. So just enjoy the show when it comes on next week – it’s all for entertainment anyways.

A Cheeky Advertisement from Victoria’s Secret

Did you ever think it was possible for Victoria’s Secret to release in advertisement that wasn’t full of lingerie, sultry music, and smoldering gazes? Well, the impossible happened. The other day, they released a short featuring one of their most playful angels – Lily Aldridge! She is, as some of you may know, my favorite angel! In this video, we watch Lily prepare for her dinner party that she is hosting and shows us how not-so-perfect she really is. Not only is it pretty cheeky in itself, but it is relatable. I know every time I used to cook for my friends, I would always be a little bit flustered and running around like a chicken with its neck cut off.

In the short, Lily goes through several outfit changes because of her mishaps and the change is so subtle that it doesn’t even feel like a Victoria’s Secret advertisement.

Candice Swanepoel Gets Cheeky

Victoria’s Secret model Candice Swanepoel is featured in Free People’s latest July catalog and to promote this month’s styling they featured a behind-the-scenes slash get-to-know type of a video for Candice. In it, we learn a couple of facts: 1. that she doesn’t have a driver’s license and 2. that she grew up on a dairy farm. Candice has always been one of my favorite angels and we’re loving this video that the brand has created. They’ve done such a great job lately with all of their videos and we couldn’t be more impressed with them.
