Truth:

Heard Lana Del Rey’s “Video Games” in my school’s cafe this evening. Well, better her than Chris Brown I guess.

Currently watching her perform on Jimmy Kimmel.

Let’s Talk About Last Night’s SNL

I can’t say that I was overly excited to see Daniel Radcliffe hosting Saturday Night Live last night, but I knew that I was going to end up watching it anyway. He’s no Emma Stone or Jimmy Fallon, but I’m going to have to agree with the criticism that most of the reviews have been saying about his performance: He did the best he could with what he was working with. Aside from the Harry Potter skit, which we all knew was going to happen, there wasn’t a lineup of skits that held my attention for my long. I was, however, impressed by his American accent! Other than that, the skits were pretty lackluster.

Now, let’s talk about the performance heard from around the world – LANA DEL REY!

Since the summer premiere of “Video Games,” Lana Del Rey has been named the indie sexpot of 2012. What that means, I’m not exactly sure. Lana is a gorgeous young woman with distinguished pouty lips that women could only dream of and a drawling voice that is both intoxicating and at times confusing. Her music video became a hit on YouTube and since then the new singer has been catching a lot of buzz – landing the cover of Billboard Magazine, snagging a modeling contract, and playing Saturday Night Live all before her debut album has even been released. She is the second artist to ever debut on Saturday Night Live in the performance slot without having an album out first. The first was Natalie Imbruglia.

So there was a lot of pressure riding on Lana last night and the question leading up to her debut was, “Is she ready?” Last night’s performances had me tilting my head and shrugging my shoulders, “Maybe?” Lana Del Rey was visibly nervous as she took the stage to perform her first single, “Video Games,” exhibiting all nervous habits – touching her hair, awkward hand placements, a shaky voice. I felt bad for the poor girl! It was tougher to watch than the time Ashlee Simpson just walked off stage because of her lip-synching. I’ll admit though that she did regain a little bit of confidence for her second song, but at the closing of the show if Seth Meyers hadn’t come up to her and said, “It wasn’t bad!” I probably would have given her the benefit of the doubt.

In the News…

– Because this is what Heroes needs to survive right? Word on the street is that this kiss, which will end up leading to some relationship on the show with Claire and her college roommate was actually Hayden’s idea. If you’re still watching this show (I stopped) you can catch the random make out sesh on next Monday’s episode on NBC.

– After Harry Potter is over, Daniel Radcliffe will be returning to the stage with the 1961 musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis will play rival ballerinas in the new thriller out in 2010 called Black Swan. “They reportedly will participate in a racy girl-on-girl love scene” Is this the theme of the year?!

Miley Cyrus has shut down her super popular Twitter because apparently her new boy and co-star Liam Hemsworth doesn’t think she should have one…because he doesn’t.

Jennifer Lopez is going under another alias. Lola. hmm Beyonce – Sasha Fierce, Mariah Carey – Mimi… why?

Ellen Page is writing a new comedy for HBO titled “Stitch N’ Bitch.” She will star alongside w/ actress Alia Shawkat. “…a show about two hipster girls who move from Williamsburg, Brooklyn to Silver Lake, Los Angeles in a passionate quest to be artistes.”I need my HBO back.

Nintendo’s Wii would like to make the television show Project Runway into a video game.

Levi Johnston – the baby daddy of Sarah Palin’s 17-year-old daughter Bristol Palin is taking it ALL off for Playgirl.

Robbie Williams may have tried to commit suicide last night? The singer “guzzled “heart-stopping” quantities of prescription drugs – and not cared if they killed him.”

Lady Gaga being FABULOUS in a new photo shoot.

The Playstation gets Revamped – becomes Playstation 4

Designer Tai Chem is recreating a new look for this old gaming system. The idea is to bring it into a future sleek setting where the console itself is more than just a means to power a display – It is also the display itself. The entire game console will have transparent surfaces that include touch screen capability a pretty glossed up compartment for discs and cable-free Bluetooth. I don’t play video games much anymore, but I’m diggin’ on the sleekness of this. No news yet on when it will debut. If it does ever come out, though, I hope it manages to sort out the technical issues with the PS4. There’s been times my friends have told me about how long they spent fixing corrupted PS4 database issues, and that is a massive no when so many games are downloaded and stored digitally these days. Especially when they get so large in filesize – most are at least 30GB nowadays! Still, there are some great games to play on the PlayStation such as minecraft, my little brother is always playing this with his friends and he loves it, he has so much fun whilst also being intellectually stimulated as the game involves building a world of adventure and fantasy. He downloaded some minecraft servers online to play with his friends and make the game multiplayer – it is so much more fun playing with others he said! In order to do so, he uses a HDMI cable to connect his console to a television. This allows him to see what he’s doing on a bigger screen. Most HDMI cables are able to connect to gaming consoles. People can always learn about the benefits of using HDMI cables for gaming at https://www.hdmi.org/spec21Sub/Gaming. My brother always puts his console onto the television as it’s easier for him.

New Nike Shoes

I’m always amazed by the kind of designs that Nike puts out. Over the years I’ve developed an attraction to their various styles of print, color and texture. This reminds me that I need to buy new Nikes…

These are cool! But not for me. These were designed by Daniel Reese and are $220 a pop! (k no thnx I don’t pay that much for my sneakers haha) Cool to look at but not cool enough to rock on my feet.

Nintendo Is Just Like Hip Hop

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjoXqkz0-6Q&feature=player_embedded]

Believe it or not, when I was little, I was a video game FIEND. I grew up in a culdesac of boys so aside from my Polly Pockets, I was playing almost every Nintendo game imaginable until we upgraded to the N64, PS2, DS, etc etc. We had it all. I don’t have any of the consoles anymore. I wish I had kept them though as some of the consoles have become collector’s items. I looked at purchasing a couple of consoles, but they are hard to get hold of! I scoured the internet but all of the ones that I managed to find cost more than the original consoles cost to buy when they were first released! Luckily you can Download on Gamulator.com and other similar sites, all of the old games that we used to play and you can even play it on a console emulator so it feels like playing the games just I did in my childhood. The only problem is, is that they are just as addictive as I remember, there’s nothing quite like blocking out the world for a few hours and just playing video games like I’m ten years old again with no real responsibilities in the world.

So whoever created this is a genius?
