Daria Werbowy for Maiyet

Model Daria Werbowy is a vision in Maiyet’s S/S 2012 new campaign. I really like the concept of this campaign being so simple especially since recent campaigns have appeared to be overdone in my book and at times a little “too much.” View all of the photos for Maiyet here.

Miami Belle by Jalouse

I sometimes wish I could live in a city where the summer season was consistent. It’s not unusual for fall, spring, or winter to be abnormal, but should that really be the case for summer? I left my house this morning wearing a sleeveless shirt with denim pants and a cardigan and now at the end of the day, I am in a sweatshirt and Uggs.

Then I am tortured by these beautiful editorials depicting summer and I sulk because I just can’t have that. Here are my favorite scans of Miami Belle by Jalouse as posted from WhoWhatWear.

Outfit Inspired

Since today was absolutely freezing, I couldn’t exactly replicate this outfit entirely. I did, however, want to try layering two cardigans of different lengths together even though the longer piece in this outfit looks like a dress. My version of this outfit included a black bandage dress with a long turquoise Madewell cardigan and a navy blue cardigan on top with a vintage brown belt cinched at the waist.

The double cardigan layer might have been redundant, but I knew it wasn’t a disaster because someone said something to me about it. It also kept me super warm during the frigid evening. Also, if you didn’t assume already, I wore black knit tights – going bare is just not sensible.

Busy Bee

I’m always a little surprised at how little I post during the weekdays because of school, but really this should come as no surprise to me at all since this routine has been going on since September.

So the posts typically accumulate at the end of the week. However, for the next few weeks, I will be very occupied with a project that I’ve been working on. That means that in my free time, I’ll be putting time and effort into that. You’ll still get a post everyday, but they won’t be as elaborate and they’ll be short little bits.

I’ve also got a few projects/news to reveal for Yow Yow as well!

  • I’ll be receiving a new book soon from St. Martin’s Press to review for you all. It’s a book called The $5 Dinner Mom Breakfast & Lunch Cookbook” by Erin Chase.
  • I recently became a member of WhoWhatWear’s Style Circle! I’m not exactly sure what that means just yet, but I heard somewhere that I may be able to review beauty products and fill you in on some events going on as well.
  • I received an email from Teen Vogue today informing me that I was selected as a brand ambassador! No word yet on what the brand is. I think I am remember applying a few months back though so I’m hoping it’s the one I signed up for and it is the brand that I like!
  • Lastly, I had the opportunity to speak with Miss Liz Lee of MTV’s My Life As Liz last Friday! This weekend, I’ll be transcribing her interview and will have it up before the premiere of season two this Tuesday! She is such a lovely girl and I’m excited to share it with you all!

Thanks for sticking with me though. I have no way of gauging the demographics of my readers ever except for the stats I get and a number doesn’t say much nor is there any substance behind it. I do love comments though ;) That’s more proof to me at least.

Have a great night everyone!
