Sidekick LX

The original sidekick has gone through so many models over they years, I’m suprised they’re making another one. T-mobile’s Sidekick LX will be released in stores May 13. Now with an even bigger screen and a thinner body, the LX features a GPS system, integrated Facebook, Myspace and Twitter, a 3.2 megapixel camera and many other features that I don’t care as much about hahah

I remember when I was fifteen and wanted a sidekick. It was the ultimate necessity for every scene kid.

Swimming Pool Illusion

Leandro Erlich is known for his innovative designs and recently decided to feature this number in his latest exhibition.

“Erlich has constructed a full-size pool, complete with all its trappings, including a deck and a ladder. When approached from the first floor, visitors are confronted with a surreal scene: people, fully clothed, can be seen standing, walking, and breathing beneath the surface of the water. It is only when visitors enter the Duplex gallery from the basement that they recognize that the pool is empty, its construction a visual trick fashioned by the artist. A large, continuous piece of acrylic spans the pool and suspends water above it, creating the illusion of a standard swimming pool that is both disorienting and humorous.”

MTV needs moar music

In 2007, Justin Timberlake accepted his award at the video music awards by saying, “play more videos.” It has taken the network two years to do just that. MTV had finally gotten rid of their used-to-be popular show Total Request Live (TRL) after that too had finally stopped being about the music. Earlier this month, the network created AMTV – which is a 6 hour block of straight music videos running from 3-9AM.

(Geez MTV really put out for that one)

I suppose it’s a start but realistically I’d rather see music videos during the day not at a time slot where I’m sleeping. At least they’re trying?

Be Green: Reuse your old bottles

New Soap, Old Bottle is a product that puts NEW soap into old bottles such as Coke and Heineken. After being sanitized, the company purchases the liquid soap to pour into these bottles for purchase. They are $4 a bottle and benefit towards the hard hitting recession and being green at the same time!

“Big companies aren’t going to do this on their own. So we’ll do it for them,” said Scott Amron, designer, electrical engineer and founding principal of New York’s Amron Exprimental. “We buy brand name liquid soap by the barrel and package it in old bottles here in America.”

Summer, Summer, it’s fine

I’ve never missed the beaches of Okinawa so much. These pictures aren’t shot there but I miss the beaches, I’m not talking Houghton in Kirkland. Photographer Stuart Gibson from Tasmania shot these incredible pictures of the water, I’ve never seen anything like it.
