Mainstream music listeners MEET YOUR JAM!

If you are insulted that you are being called mainstream…I’m sorry. What I mean to say is it’s okay that we all listen to the radio even if we don’t always admit it. Some people listen to it all the time and some only during special occasions – myself included. Anyways, DJ Earworm has produced a mash up of all of the most overplayed songs of 2009. Yes, overplayed – there’s no denying it. I actually really enjoy this mashup because it recaps the entire year of 2009 and is better than listening to a NOW That’s What I Call Music! CD. Are they up to 100 yet? I really believe they should stop making those…now.

Snuggies For the Win

Unlike Twilight, I actually don’t mind hearing about the Snuggie. Especially when they come in THIS form. I’ve heard that these are being sold at Hot Topic, so Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fans you better jump on this quick! They’re only $28 and you can buy them online as well.

Seeing this brings me great hope. If they can make Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Snuggies, they are one step closer to Sailor Moon Snuggies. Can ya dig it?

Absolut gets creative w/ some help

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5O16C1ZLuyI]

Absolut has quite the publicity team. They have taken a new direction that doesn’t obviously say, “Buy our brand of alcohol!” Instead they have used actresses Zooey Deschanel and Kate Beckinsale to automatically catch your glance first before you see the Absolut bottle in the left hand corner. Can you believe that that is Zooey? She almost looks more like Hilary Duff. In the above video, Absolut contacted groups of different artists from all over the world to define the philsophy of Absolut Vodka.

Preview: American Apparel Nail Lacquer

Awhile back, I posted that American Apparel would be debuting their new line of nail polish and it’s finally here! They come in all of the colors that American Apparel typically uses for their basic staples. The 18 colors are selling for $6 a piece or $15 for three. I think I’m most excited about the pastels (thinking ahead for spring!) and the white. These are available in store or online

Metro Station quickly disbands

Today Metro Station’s drummer Anthony Improgo has made the decision to depart from the band. He is the second member to leave within two months after keyboardist Blake Healy. All that’s left is Trace Cyrus (Miley’s brother) and Mason Musso (Mitchell Musso’s brother)

Sad news when a band like this had great potential. And I’m not talking about their recent stuff… their EP was actually decent and I still find myself listening to it. I haven’t been following them for some time, but I’m going to say that they started going downhill once they hit mainstream.

Which Size is right?

Photographer Terry Richardson recently did this shoot in V Magazine comparing models Jacquelyn Jablonski and Crystal Renn. They decided to answer the question once and for all: is there really a difference when it comes to skinny and plus size? Does the skinnier model wear the clothes better? Do they add to better sales? When you compare the two photos side-by-side, you will have noticed that there isn’t much of a difference. Way to go V for standing up to the fashion industry.

Enough is Enough Twilight

The world just cannot get enough of the Twilight saga. Apparently television producers are interested in finding out if the teenagers of Forks, WA kind of are like the teenagers in the Twilight movie. I’m not a die hard fan, if you haven’t noticed. I haven’t been dying to visit Forks. I would imagine that teens living in that city are like …every other teenager in the world.

Zig Gauthier is a television producer who is trying very hard to drag on this …obsession. The project is currently untitled, but here is what he is looking for, “We’re not going up there looking to cast people who have claims to the supernatural,” Gauthier told TheWrap, just hours before hopping a flight to Forks. “We want people who have a true connection to the community. We want to avoid people with outlandish claims.”

Ultimately his goal is to take a closer look into the people living in Forks and seeing what they are really like.

Doesn’t look like a Jersey Shore winner to me.
