For several months, I have been reading articles about Taylor Momsen. She spoke about how when she first appeared on Gossip Girl she was someone that she wasn’t. Really? The cute, smiley, chirpy, blonde girl wasn’t you? Apparently not. Taylor underwent a major transformation. She traded in her bright dresses for lots of black and let slip news that she was the lead singer of a band – a band that really rocks out a little too hard for many people’s tastes – and that she had a much darker side. She then basically put down everyone in her age group by saying she was more mature than most of them in Teen Vogue.
“Most of my friends are older, too. I live a very adult life: I have two different careers; I’m on tour. What am I going to do, hang out with the high school kids?”
Okay Taylor, we get it. You’re really yourself now and you’re an actress, a singer, and a model. Essentially a triple threat and now you are with Victoria’s Secret advertising a new scent. But I’ve got proof that you’re still as young as you actually are!
When Taylor was recently asked if she would join in with other celebrities to help ask for donations for Haiti she responded:
“Um, right now I’m trying to just finish my record and getting through the last season of ‘Gossip Girl’ for right now. So not so much thinking about that … But it’s awesome that everyone is ya know working towards a good cause.”
Saying you are mature and being mature are two different things.
I agree with your take there. A lot of these child stars think they are above it all and the real world doesn’t apply to them… Could you imagine how much her stock would plummet if that quote made it to mainstream media? She would crawl back into her little girl shell in a heartbeat?
It’s funny, I thought Blake Lively would have been too idiotic to say something like that but it’s well and truly out of the mouths of babes…
