The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

It’s coming this Spring! The new park will find it’s home at the Universal Studios in Orlando. I feel like this park opening is going to be like 23948723 x more exciting only because we’ve read everything about it in the books so we know what it will be like except better. I can’t tell you how many times while reading the books, I thought to myself, “I want to quit school and become a wizard. Maybe I’ll get lucky and discover I’m at least a muggle!”

Yeah, I was one of those kids that wanted to live through books. It’s cool. Anyways, the new site is up!! So go here for a little sneak preview.

But, I’m going to leave you with a little bit of news also…

  • The Layout. The park is split into Hogsmeade and Hogwarts. And both are pretty true to the backdrops we’ve become familiar with through the books and movies.
  • Rides. There are three—the first is “The Flight of the Hippogriff,” a family-friendly ride that takes you through the yards of Hogwarts as you test-ride a hippogriff. The second, “The Dragon Challenge,” is actually two roller coasters in one, intertwined so they compete head-to-head. The final ride is “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” and Universal seems pretty proud of it. The park claims that the ride “uses groundbreaking, state-of-the-art technology” that allows you into the halls of Hogwarts.
  • Eats. So far the Wizarding World is only advertising one restaurant, The Three Broomsticks. But if I know anything from my experience as an amusement park adorer, guests will probably be tripping over Butter Beer Breweries and Slytherin Snake Snack booths left and right.
