Harry Potter Gets New Covers

When I was growing up and reading the Harry Potter series, I used to look forward to every new release of the book. I was excited for the story as well as the image on the cover just because they were so unique. It was their signature after all. For some reason, their publisher, Bloomsbury has announced that they will be releasing a new “signature” edition of the popular series. The new covers, designed by Claire Melinsky, were intended to “appeal to the next generation of readers who did not grow up” with the series. I get it, I can understand why older adult readers might feel like they are buying a book meant for kids, but how can you change something like Harry Potter? If it’s not broken, I don’t see why there is a need to fix it. The books will be set to released on Nov. 1
