The Diva is Back

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlGZ_a9A_tM]

I also heard about this story from my wake up call from my local radio station this morning too. Christina Aguilera was going on about her new album in a recent interview with extreme exaggeration saying things like”… it was magic. Pure magic.” Before she gets to this statement though, I’m sure she had it all planned out in her head, someone behind the scenes coughed. OH Shooooooot…

What does Christina say?

“Coughing during my interview? Really?” She makes a nasty face and then cackles, but not the jokingly kind. It’s the kind of cackle that is going to rip the coughing son of a beezy to shreds after the cameras turn off. How dare they make her lose her train of thought! She then orders, “Shoot him!” And I bet she did just that…or hired someone to do it for her.

Happy Homeless

Being homeless is no laughing matter. HOBviously. But are you not supposed to laugh when they have a funny sign? I mean what other option is there, really. When times are tough, sometimes all you can do is laugh at your situation. There are plenty of ways that you can help end homelessness one of which is to just stay informed. It is a growing problem within our country and it’s not getting better any time soon. Growing up in Seattle, I used to think that we had had it pretty bad.  But that all changed when I was exposed to the homeless community in Vancouver, Canada. Help is always wanted – – > here

Touching Strangers

I have no idea when Richard Renaldi published this photo project entitled “Touching Strangers,” but I absolutely am marveled by the idea of it. Richard roams the city of New York and pulls aside two or more people who are essentially strangers to each other. He then captures a photo of them posing together. Their only requirement? They have to be touching each other.

Sometimes he will coach or suggest a way for the strangers to pose. Most times, he will let their naturally tentative manner unfold right there in front of the camera. Renaldi catches the raw vulnerability, spontaneity, awkwardness and surprising comfort brilliantly.

Renaldi is a very talented photographer. If you visit his portfolio, you will find some amazing projects.

The New Black and White

I don’t think I will ever stop being impressed with the talented and creative minds that walk this Earth. I’m amazed at some of things that people have done and am glad that someone has thought of the idea to do these types of things. I’m so appreciative for the art in this world whether it is through voice, sound, paint, drawings, fashion, photography etc. I’m also very grateful to have grown up with art in my life.

Anyways! Pencil vs. Camera is a project developed by African-born and Belgium painter, illustrator, portraitist, caricaturist, and photographer Ben Heine. Clearly, he is a man of many artistic talents. Ben Heine captures some of Europe’s greatest views by mixing reality with imagination and lets his drawings fill in the blanks for us.

Choices include:

Toxic

Baby, One More Time

3

Womanizer

None.

My vote is for 3 please!

Out on the Town: 4/26

I only know this piece of information from listening to my wake up call from KISS 106.1 this morning.

Tonight Tyler Hilton and my old favorite band The Spill Canvas will be performing at El Corazon. Joining them will be AM Taxi and New Politics. Remember Tyler Hilton? He sang that one song, “When It Comes…” Don’t take that the wrong way. He also appeared on more than a few episodes of One Tree Hill and everyone basically hated him.

Ming Makes Cupcakes

I don’t know who Ming is, but they are making the best looking cupcakes I have ever seen! The one above is a “Flourless chocolate cupcake with whipped cream.” If you visit their site, you will find yourself going a little crazy –  maybe feeling a little bit hungry? for these sweet treats! If you’re looking at the pictures and wondering where you can pick up some, you won’t find a contact. A recipe is provided for you instead!

Ming, we don’t know who you are, but we love you?

Kell on Earth – – > Kell Takes Over the Earth

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcV2TAJgrJw&feature=player_embedded]

Kelly Cuthrone has been one of my idols for a very long time. I would love to know what it is like to work with her PR firm. I also like the idea that she has her own TV show on Bravo “Kell on Earth” which is incredibly addicting. She now has a YouTube channel along with all of the above. Here she is w/ her adorable daughter Ava.

Cathy Nguyen Update!

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0s3ABsmas8]

It’s been awhile since I’ve had any new interviews on Yow Yow! In that time, a lot can change so I wanted to check up on some of my interviewees to see how they were doing. You can view my previous interview w/ her here.

In Cathy Nguyen news, she will be taking a break from performances and recording her YouTube videos for awhile because she was recently accepted into the radiologic technology program at Mt. Sac in Walnut, California. This has been a dream of hers for a very long time so I wish her nothing but the best!

Also, I’ve been receiving a few comments from you guys asking for her contact information. For the sake of her own privacy, I do not want to release any of her information online, but maybe you could try reaching her on her websites.

The rest of her updates can be found here

Good luck Cathy!!

In the News…

– Despite not being a “teenager” anymore, I still enjoy reading Teen Vogue. I haven’t felt like I have grown out of it just yet whereas I definitely did with American Girl Magazine hah

Teen Vogue is discussing about taking their magazine to the next level, which may include a new television show. So what will it be…reality? sitcom? a show like What Not to Wear? Only time will tell…

– Famous blogger Tavi of Style Rookie has turned 14. I still remain jealous of her amazing blog.

Monsters Inc 2 will have a sequel! Does that mean we get to see BOO?!

Lady Gaga may just be the next one to go under the knife.

The Fratellis have broken up after five years and two albums.
