Uh Oh here comes tomorrow

Thanks to a lovely reader of mine and an old friend, I have finally been introduced to Mediafire. I used to be able to download whole CD’s from my favorite musicians and bands, but I had no resource to download just singles. This weekend, I spent a great deal of time on Mediafire downloading my previous “Song of the Day’s” and music from my Playlist account. There were singles of bands that I had just been introduced to.

There’s something so incredibly refreshing about listening to new music. I love the search in it all. I’d like to recommend that you do the same as well. If you need a place to start, I’ll start you off. I cannot stress how important it is to support local talent wherever it is that you are from. Take one night off in your summer from whatever you’re doing and go to a show. Go to a show where you don’t know any of the bands if you want. Check out your local venues. You might be surprised at what you will find – and trust me it’s not the Eminem and Rihanna song “Love the Way You Lie” on repeat. Believe it or not, music does exist off the airwaves too.

This next school year, I am taking on a job that I have done before, which is booking for local bands. I couldn’t be more excited about it! I’ve already thought about a tentative schedule for the whole year, but regardless – readers – I want to hear your suggestions. Give me a local band from your home town/area or even a little known artist or band from anywhere so that I can give them a listen. For every band you leave me in a comment, I’ll post one right back to you on this page.

I hope this works because if it does we’re all going to get a lot of new music!

Thanks!
