For my friends in London – Play on!

I’ve got a few friends in London right now who have been studying abroad over there and also some friends that will be there within the next year – so this piece of news is for them.

Similar to the piano installations all over New York, London has done the same with table tennis. There are nearly 100 ping pong tables located in London in public places including streets, parks, shopping centers etc. So if there’s one free by you, use it! The table wants you to play it. Apparently, the program is from an initiative that  is trying to set up some buzz for the Olympics, which will be heading to London in 2012.

Capitol Hill Block Party Recap in Video form

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPxhmbwD5HU]

The organizers of the Capitol Hill Block Party flew in Brandon Osborn from Los Angeles to document the entire weekend. Brandon is also originally from Seattle so the way he explains how the music scene here is spot-on. The shots and footage he got from this weekend are absolutely incredible. If you were unable to  envision the experience through my own recap or through The Stranger’s, this might do the job. Enjoy!

Haterz

“I had a boyfriend who told me I’d never succeed, never be nominated for a Grammy, never have a hit song, and that he hoped I’d fail. I said to him, “Someday when we’re not together, you won’t be able to order a cup of coffee at the fucking deli without hearing or seeing me.”

See Claudia Date

See Claudia Date, have you met Dating Brian yet?

Funny, you guys seem to be doing the exact same project [30 dates in 30 days] at exactly the same time. It seems almost fitting that you guys should have at least one date together, don’t you think? The only problem is that Claudia seems to be in Florida and not New York City. Super bummer…

Regardless, I still have a massive crush on Dating Brian hahah

Mila’s Daydreams

This is probably the cutest thing that I have seen in a long time. Mila’s mother tries to imagine what her daughter may be dreaming about and creates this beautiful settings for her and snaps a picture. Mila is going to have one cool photo album of herself when she is older…

Happy Barbie-in-a-Blender day

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ct7PHluJiw]

with a not-so-happy ending. Watching this just made me so sad! I recently read an article claiming that even though Barbies were the number one toy for little girls, they were also the toys that were constantly being manipulated and battered. Little kids had no problem ripping off their arms, cutting their hair, and completely mutilating them because it had something to do with the doll’s appearance. I wish I could find that article now…
