Justin Timberlake is shopping for an Oscar

Justin Timberlake thought his performance in The Social Network was good enough for him to earn an Oscar so Sony is now launching a campaign for it.

Am I the only one in the world that thought The Social Network wasn’t actually THAT good? It’s an entertaining movie, yes, but I can’t see anything beyond that.

New Header!

I’ve decide to change the header two days early because today is the first day of …FINALS WEEK. I’m going to cut back on posts because lets be real – I’m in school for a reason and this blog will never be able to support me and my lifestyle. Also – a lot of people that read this blog are students as well. I am basically doing you a favor by eliminating one of your many distractions. You’re welcome.

So while I’m gone, here are some things you can do:

Song of the Day – Open your ears to some new music. Mainstream radio is just bad for you.

Links – View my friends’ pages in the left hand side bar. I’ll be updating this sometime in December also to add some more variety.

Time Waster posts – For the people always suffering from boredom

Read a random post – Browse through the calendar and read about old news.

GET OFF your computer and go enjoy your life. Learn to disconnect every once in awhile. Thanks everyone!

Out on the Town: 11/30

Lucy Schwartz will be performing with “guests” on Tuesday, November 30th at The Vera Project located near the Seattle Center. Tickets will be $9 and doors are at 7:30 PM.

Her album is incredible and so beautifully done – I’m always amazed when I listen to a musician who is my age.

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour – Around the Bend

I’d like this to be my theme song. Any possible way for me to have this playing when I walk everywhere?

Time Waster

Today, my time waster tag has reached 100 posts.

Students – real world workers – anyone who reads this blog, you will now have 100 posts to peruse from when you find yourself wanting to be distracted from whatever it is that you are doing.

If you’re already reading this blog for that same reason above…well … you can just keep doing what you’re doing.

Girl Talk Trailer

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmzFte9uG6o&feature=player_embedded]

Since 2008, I have had the opportunity of seeing Girl Talk live twice. It is quite possibly one of my favorite memories and an experience that I think everyone should have. No one can put on a show like Gregg Gillis, nor will they come close. If you thought his albums were  good, imagine what it is like to see that in concert.

Last New Years Eve, Gregg performed in Chicago for 4,500 people at a venue where he created a house as his backdrop. He then had someone to document it all and it looks INSANE.

Gregg – see you in 2011.

Influencers

Last month, I posted a trailer for the short documentary Influencers – a story of how trends in music, fashion, and entertainment have become entwined into our culture to become an influencer.

The film was directed by Paul Rojanathara and Davis Johnson and beautifully depicts how influences have shaped our past and continue to shape our future.

Feel free to watch the film here.
