A Path in the Forest

photo cred | The Cool Hunter

Designed by architect Tetsuo Kondo, “A Path in the Forest” is an art installation that can be found in Kadriorg Park located near Tallinn, Estonia. This beautiful path in the trees spans 95 meters (or 311 feet) weaving in and out of the park’s 300-year old trees. These photographs are absolutely stunning, but I’m sure don’t do the installation any justice in real life. I love how peaceful and serene this pathway looks though. It’s breathtaking.

Pretty Little Liars Promotional Photo

pic cred: ohnotheydidnt

Gearing up for the second mid-season premiere, the Pretty Little Liars are back in black with this new promotional photo. Is anyone else as excited as I am for Monday? Need a little catch up – pick me up? The marathon starts MONDAY leading up to the new episode.

Below is the promotional photo for the earlier second season premiere. They sure don’t seem as smiley as they do in the new promo as they did back then. Could it be because they are currently accused of murder?

Russell Brand has officially filed for divorce from pop singer Katy Perry. Rumors have been swirling about their failed marriage in the last couple of weeks especially when the two did not spend the holidays together and were seen without their wedding rings. The two were married in October of 2010, but Brand filed for divorce today in Los Angeles citing “irreconcilable differences.”

It’s sad news sure, but I am not crying over it like some people are on Twitter…courtesy of Buzzfeed.

Song of the Day

College feat. Electric Youth – A Real Hero

Have you guys seen the movie Drive yet? I recently watched it over the holidays and probably fell more in love with the soundtrack than the movie itself!

As described by Josh Spear, “Cowbird” is the public library of human experience. Take that in for a second. Whenever I come across something I don’t understand or have yet to experience myself, I immediately run to Google. While Google is a great source, articles can not always convey the same message as in a story. Cowbird gives meaning to these experiences through media. Stories are shared by real people themselves and this is what makes the entire website so beautiful. I truly believe that it’s projects like these that bring us closer to people and again with the communication vocab – of Global Village – make us feel as if relationships can be established with disregard to distance.

What New Year’s Eve Party Are You Going To?

pic cred: The Daily What

Oh…this one!

Just kidding, I don’t actually have my New Year’s Eve plans figured out yet. This fake New Year’s Eve flier was passed around the interwebz today and as funny as it is reading it, we all know that there’s an 80% chance of these scenarios happening.

I’ve got a love/hate relationship with the holiday. In the past couple of years, my celebration has been pretty tame. Last year, I was sick. Two years ago, Samantha and I played third and fourth wheel to our best friend and previous boyfriend’s evening. There was some dinner at a nice restaurant involved and a showing of a British or Australian zombie movie on TV with a title that could have been confused with a porno.

This year, I’m going into it with no expectations or at least lowered expectations. New Year’s Eve is a classy holiday, but yet I always find that it is ruined by schmammeredness and dresses that are not fit for the evening or – dresses that just don’t fit (right). My plans may be up in the air right now, but I’ll do you a solid and make you proud.

Happy New Year everyone!

Other Videos You Need To Watch Today

So I ran into a little hiccup earlier today that has kept me from posting on Yow Yow.

It was a slow news day anyways, but not for new viral videos!

I’ve heard multiple covers of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” but nothing compares to this performance by 15-year old Park Ji Min. This rendition performed on the Korean singing competition  K-Pop Star (like our American Idol, The Voice, X-Factor) is what everyone is talking about today!

Picture this. You’re out with your friends on a weeknight at some bar when it just happens to be karaoke night! Drake and Rihanna’s “What’s My Name?” Yes, please! That’s my jam right there. You get on stage and oh! Drake joins you to rap his verse!

Bound to be the best night ever, right?

Two of my favorite movie characters Summer and Tom reunite to sing this New Year’s duet originally sung by Nancy Wilson. Swoon.
