Dance Marathon

This past Saturday, I participated in Dance Marathon at Seattle University to raise money for the Seattle Children’s Hospital. We ended up surpassing our goal and raising over $26,000+ The marathon was held from 10AM Saturday to 2AM Sunday and during that time we were on our feet at all times. We didn’t have to necessarily be dancing the whole time, but we definitely weren’t allowed to sit down.

Those closest to me know that seeing me partake in any kind of strenuous activity at all is a rare sight. Even though I’m about to lose a toe nail on both of my bruised feet, I don’t think I would take back the 16 hrs of dancing, dance circles, dance battles, laughter, pictures, and the many inside jokes.

I feel incredibly lucky to have had this opportunity and this experience in my college career, but I honestly believe that now is the best time for me to be able to give back. Even though I would like to continue to give back throughout my life and in my future, who’s to say that that can actually happen. Right now, I have the time, the opportunities, and apparently the feet for it (or not.)

Anyways, I’ll be wearing my Uggs for the rest of the week since I’m supposed to avoid tight fitting shoes, but I thought that all of you should know…
