I know I said that I was done w/ Resort 2012 collections, but that was only because I thought it was over. Also, I will always stop what I’m doing for Marchesa.

“The Lord of the Rings” Go Hipster
Illustrator Noelle Stevenson has been racking up some buzz in the blogosphere lately with her new series of drawings entitled “The Broship of the Ring.” Her quirky doodles paired with quotes from the film take the cake. While she does have several comics in the Broship series, Stevenson has been creating illustrations for other characters you might recognize.

Poor Kid Just Doesn’t Want to Walk
What kid doesn’t want fame? Lately, it seems like everyone does what with shows like Toddlers and Tiaras and 16 and Pregnant. Believe it or not, some kids just want to be kids including this young child model who was in tears from the minute he stepped onto the runway…and didn’t stop crying.
Who is this model holding his hand? Does he not have a heart? Console the little guy, c’mon now! I honestly don’t know how he kept a straight face through this. The models mean business y’all!
Chi Chi and the Greek
There are quite a few careers in the fashion industry that I have always been interested in, but if I could pin point it down to one – it would probably be the career of a buyer. Granted, there’s a lot that I don’t know about this industry, but what I do know is that you get to travel the world searching for the best treasures and predicting the next up-and-coming trends for your brand. One buyer that goes by the name of Kelly Johnson has been doing this job for the last 20 years, and now she is ready to unleash these pieces to the world with her online shop Chi Chi and the Greek. Kelly has been perusing vintage shops for a large chunk of her life and now she is giving back to all of us by letting us take them off her hands. Happy shopping!

Things that aren’t laughable…
BUT I’m laughing anyways.
The major headline that can be found on the Gawker today reads:
Hidden Camera Catches Host of To Catch a Predator Cheating on Wife
Quick! How many funny things can you make up about this headline?
Man With a Pan
Remember when I said earlier this summer that it is nearly impossible to resist a man that cooks a meal for you? Well, I didn’t say that exactly – but it was along those lines. If you haven’t gotten started yet and are still scratching your head for some type of inspiration then look no further and purchase yourself a copy of “Man With a Pan.” The book offers advice and recipes from 21 chefs and food writers . You can snag the book for just $10 – and that is quite a steal if you ask me.
Miami Belle by Jalouse
I sometimes wish I could live in a city where the summer season was consistent. It’s not unusual for fall, spring, or winter to be abnormal, but should that really be the case for summer? I left my house this morning wearing a sleeveless shirt with denim pants and a cardigan and now at the end of the day, I am in a sweatshirt and Uggs.
Then I am tortured by these beautiful editorials depicting summer and I sulk because I just can’t have that. Here are my favorite scans of Miami Belle by Jalouse as posted from WhoWhatWear.

I’m not sure what I am more impressed by – the fact that technology has become advanced enough to produce something like this using two Nokia N8 mobile phones or that director JW Griffiths has an incredibly steady hand while shooting this short film.
This film was declared the winner of the 2011 Nokia Shorts.
