Yow Yow!’s First Giveaway!

I am thrilled to announce to you all that I am hosting my first (but hopefully not the last) giveaway ever with Knock Knock! If you’ve been following the blog, then you may have seen my last feature on their product The Social Media Citation earlier this month. They’re the brand responsible for all of your favorite quirky gifts including  To-Do lists, WTF Stamps, Slang Flashcards and many more. Not only are they fantastic products to keep yourself organized with, but they also make great gifts for friends!

Knock Knock was so kind to me and sent me over their Idea Log to try out recently and I have basically fallen in love with it. I found that while I was constantly on the go during the week, it was difficult for me to record some of the ideas I had in my PDA. I used to just throw random phrases into the notepad section of my phone, but sometimes I would jot it down so quickly without a description that I would later forget why I wrote it down in the first place. With the Idea Log that fits so snug into my purse, I can easily pull it out and jot my ideas down whether I’m at home, at work, on the go, etc.

The Idea Log has been a great tool and resource for me and I would love the chance to pass it on to one of you! So…if you are interested in winning a copy of the Idea Log, answer this question below and the best response will win! I’ll be holding this contest until Friday, August 5 at 5PM PST.

Question: Tell us about a great idea or project you intend to complete by the end of summer or have completed this summer already!

Nomz: Lemon Spaghetti

Lemon Spaghetti is the one recipe that I have been itching to make all summer! Today, I finally had the time and the drive to do it so I walked myself to grocery and picked up everything that I needed to make it happen. This pasta is light, healthy, and so fitting for this season.

One thing that I realized from making this recipe was that I really need a lemon squeezer. Manually squeezing it myself made me tip the whole cup over and have to start again. Since I barely made 1/2 cup of juice with the whole organic lemon, I decided to substitute the rest of it with “Simply Lemonade.” Boom. Improvisation.

Feel like trying out this delicious pasta yourself? Here’s the recipe!

Have You Been to an Outdoor Concert Lately?

It has been almost ten years since I have been to a concert that took place in a huge arena. Aside from the fact that I generally prefer music festivals to the one headliner – one opener combo, I just don’t have any interest in being in such a vast space with not so great viewing with the tickets I could only afford at the time. I will, however, shovel out my money for an outdoor festival. There is nothing better than having the best of both worlds by watching your favorite acts and being outside in a beautiful venue during the summer, wouldn’t you agree?

Flavorwire has highlighted some of the best outdoor venues in America and these photographs are absolutely amazing!

So who can guess the featured venue above?

Minimalist Posters for childhood stories

Less is more has never been more true than with these beautiful posters by Christian Jackson. I am digging the modern take on my favorite childhood stories and actually selected my favorite story of “Goldilocks & the Three Bears” to feature for this post today. Though these posters depict children’s stories, you will find after perusing the collection that many of the images may be geared towards the adult crowd. View the rest of the collection and make your purchases here.

YouTube collaborates with Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits

After the successful streaming of Coachella’s performances earlier this year, YouTube has decided to collaborate with Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits to bring the masses the festival straight from your computer. It’s not exactly the same thing, but hey, I’ll take it.

Hipster/Gen Y inforgraphic

Designed by Salty Waffle, this infographic explains our generation’s purchasing habits and constant involvement with technology. None of us should actually be surprised by these facts because for the most part, they are all true. I suffer from a syndrome that has no name yet I don’t think that doesn’t allow me to fully disconnect. However, not by choice, I am without my PDA for 24+ hours today!  This infographic also includes some hipster traits and facts too just for some entertainment.
