In The Open

About two years ago, I wrote a post about La Blogotheque, a music blog based out of Paris that would host spontaneous performances by some of our favorite musicians including Phoenix and Feist. Today, I’d like to introduce to you another blog with a similar concept called In The Open.

“We are people who love music to put it simply. Ranging from writers, designers, photographers, and cinematographers we all love music equally and want to spread as much music as possible in just about every format we possibly can.”

In The Open does just that while allowing musicians to record a performance in open spaces such as parks, woods or even overlooking skyscrapers. I’m sure musicians appreciate this so much because it is rare for them to be able to sit out at these places and just perform – especially for a park – without being hounded or given song requests. It’s sort of a trade off a musician makes after making it big so it’s great to hear that In The Open is providing this type of space for them.
