Welcome to 2012…

Where the playas play!

So it doesn’t have the same ring to it as Jermaine Dupri’s “Welcome to Atlanta,”, but it’s still just as good!

How was everyone’s celebration last night? What did you guys end up doing to ring in the new year? After not being able to find a dress for myself yesterday afternoon, I had almost given up all hope on my evening activities. Luckily for me, my two best friends snapped me out of my funk pretty quickly and we embarked on a pretty spectacular night in Seattle. At midnight, we found ourselves on the rooftop of an apartment building overlooking the skyline and the fireworks from the Space Needle.

2011 was an incredible year and to be honest, I’m just a little bit sad to see it go. In 2011, I accomplished my number one  goal of getting on stage with Gregg Gillis. It was a long time coming, but we finally made it happen! The new goal to look forward to is attending a major music festival outside of the state. In 2011, I spent the entire summer living in Seattle. I attended my first “friend’s” wedding. I celebrated my 21st birthday. I have also thoroughly enjoyed my school year and am able to say that I have appreciated many moments from 2011. This year, more than any other school year, has taught me a lot about myself, has enabled me to push my limits, and has helped me to grow as a person and begin my transition out of college.

In 2012, I will be  graduating. At least when I was graduating the first time, I knew that college would come right after, but that is not the case this time around and it is both exciting and terrifying. Whatever happens, I think I’m ready for it…and as I type that, I’m not exactly convinced, but let’s just hope that I’ll  feel as great as I do about the end of 2012 as I do right now.

Happy New Year!
