The meaningful conversations that I have with my friends’ parents are ones that I never forget about. At a grad party for one of my best friends last week, her father and I discussed how the times are a changin’! Well, duh – you already knew that. Basically when you graduate from college, you’re naturally expected to get a job. That’s what the standard was then and sometimes it is still the standard now, but there are many that follow their own path and that is still admirable to me. Having a job is great, but it’s not for everyone just like school isn’t for everyone. With the tough economy that my generation is facing, United Colors of Benetton is recognizing this and offering up an amazing contest opportunity.

I’ve always believed that your job should always be something that you love doing, but what if what you love doing isn’t a real job yet? What then?

United Colors of Benetton will give 100 winners €5,000 each (about $6,500) to fund their own individual projects and to explore their passion. It’s a social media type contest so you just have to enter on Facebook and the entries with the most votes (100 winners) will win.

Sound good? Great. Go for it!
