Every now and then, Yow Yow needs a little bit of a hiatus. That doesn’t mean we’re gone for good though. Yow Yow at times, is my escape. It’s the one time that I focus only on news and forget about what’s going on around me and this weekend it was quite the opposite. I needed to accept life and no matter what was going on, I couldn’t exactly run to this blog. In fact, I ran away from it.
This weekend, I didn’t do five things. Instead, I experienced and appreciated five feelings.
- Gratitude for the most supportive friends and family
- Joy for the most memorable experiences
- Appreciation for many firsts
- Love – feeling it and expressing it
- Acceptance that I am 22 years old and I’ve got a whole life ahead of me
Life would be so easy if everything were planned out. I know that because I was an event planner and that’s how my life has been for as long as I’ve known. I like knowing what’s going to come next and being in control of it, but that’s not reality. It doesn’t always happen that way and I think that’s the hardest part for someone who is like me – when things don’t go your way and you’re like WAIT – but I wanted to do this, this, and this.
I’ve reached a milestone in my life. It’s not the best milestone and it’s not the easiest one to go through, but at least I don’t feel all that alone in it. No one ever is.
I am 22 and I’ve decided that I can pretty much do whatever I want. So hey, Yow Yow! we’re back and stuff…
