Sundance Photo Of The Day

There’s no way that this photo of Adam Brody, Amanda Seyfried, and Peter Sarsgaard didn’t make you smile. The three can be found in their Sundance film Lovelace

Pop-Up Hotel: Shipping Containers

photo cred | Sleeping Around

Designed by Sleeping Around, this pop-up hotel is truly one of a kind. These shipping containers – turned hotels for the night can’t be found with an address, but instead by GPS. Currently, this hotel is overlooking Antwerp’s riverfront, but don’t expect it to always be there. This shipping container is a traveler and you never really know where it will go next.

So what’s the purpose for a traveling hotel?

In some cases, it can be a way to give travelers a way to experience a unique corner of a city without the ecological (or literal) footprint of a standard new building. For events, like music festivals, that bring hundreds or thousands of people to an area for just a few days, a pop-up hotel can provide an alternative place to stay.

I am LOVING this unique idea. I don’t have too many friends abroad right now except for my friend Samantha in London, but I hope at least someone I know or someone I find in the blogosphere will have tried this out.

McDonald’s Fish McBites

photo cred | via Doobybrain

Can we talk about how THIS is happening at McDonalds?! I’ve always believed in the theory that people just love small food. Hence – sushi’s popularity as well as bite size candy bars and little tea sandwiches. McDonalds is getting in on that trend by turning one of their most popular sandwiches (and my favorite sandwich) The Fish Fillet into Fish McBites. Genius. Get me some now.

Internet Explorer Makes Its Comeback

Can we talk about how Internet Explorer is tugging at our 90s child heart strings with their new commercial?! It’s not going to make me want to use it over Google Chrome or anything like that, but still – adorableness.

Thoughts On Juice Cleansing

photo cred | Juicebox

January – the month of resolutions, wanted change, and getting healthy. For the last 23 days, I have been scouring the blogs only to find that one of this year’s biggest (and trendiest) resolutions is the juice cleanse. Personally, I’ve never done one, but I’m very interested in it. Do I think that I could last 3 days on an all liquid diet? Probably not – that’s going to be a challenge, but the thought of detoxing and cleansing my body and starting off fresh is so appealing. I know there’s plenty of advice online for cleansing your liver so perhaps I’ll start doing the research to begin my detoxing journey.

The cleanse program was created by a Seattle-based company called Juicebox and it’s pretty flexible in that you can do it for one day, three days, or five days. It’s also $60 a day so it’s kind of an expensive cleanse, but I can only imagine that your body is going to love you a lot for it (or hate you cause it might think you’re starving.)

I decided to get a second opinion and read Seattle Met’s Allecia Vermillion’s point of view on the juice cleanse and while it seems like she had some ups and downs – the end result was positive.

So what do you think readers? Should I do it?! A 3-day cleanse is pretty heavy on my poor post-grad bank account, but I think even one day could do me some good. Would you try it?
