Nordstrom’s New Cocktail Bar Habitant

photo cred | Downtown Bellevue

A couple of weeks ago, I stopped by the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in Bellevue Square only to find that they were constructing a cocktail bar right in the middle of the store. At first, I thought I might have been in the wrong place, but then I remembered that Nordstrom is probably the most innovative retailer right now and that this is really no surprise at all. Habitant looked cool. It was swanky, trendy, and the type of place I would probably want to go to. My friend Jodie who was with me at the time was a little shocked by the idea and nervous that drinking while shopping would lead to some serious damage to her wallet.

Habitant opened last Friday and is now serving up drinks and little bites! To read the full details, click here.

Benefit Launches Airport Kiosks

photo cred | Refinery29 via Benefit Cosmetics

Typically when you’re traveling, you’re not always looking your best. And for good reason! You’re going for comfort over style – flats over wedges. It’s hard to find a balance for being comfortable and still trying hard to not look like a slob and Benefit understands this. I swear that when I walk into Sea-Tac Airport I’m feeling like an 8, but between checking in and god forbid – that security check – that number gets dropped to a 4. Recognizing the need to feel and look your best in a sticky traveling situation, Benefit is launching new kiosks within 25 different airports across the country so that you can freshen up and re-apply on the go.

Ice Cream Snow in London

photo cred | Design Taxi

Londoners were recently greeted to a special treat by an avant-garde baker that goes by the name of “Miss Cakehead.” Previously creating an edible hotel made out of cake, Miss Cakehead brings her latest innovation to the table with ice cream snow. These snow showers came down on Thorpe Park and tasted of vanilla and strawberry. Most people would be thrilled – I would be too – but I would also be concerned about how sticky and messy I would feel afterwards. Can you tell that I wasn’t one to play in the mud as a kid?

I just saw the trailer for this film for the first time tonight, but I think this might be the extended version.
