Take Me There:

When I was living in Seattle, I used to always carry my laptop around with me and try and document from every little place I’d ever blogged at. I used to think that each location was giving me a new burst of inspiration or a new perspective. There are so many places you can do this from in Capitol Hill. What I found out was that I didn’t get a surge of creativity, I was just finding a new location for people watching. Only then, would that inspire a little bit of something for me. This summer, I’ll be in the Bay Area with San Francisco just a drive away and I can’t wait to see what will come out of Yow Yow! through these places.

Happy Thanksgiving from Yow Yow!

Of course we’re blogging on a holiday! Happy happy Thanksgiving y’all! I hope all of you have had a lovely holiday spending time with your friends and family and indulging on a huge feast. I know I did. It’s been a year for both me and Yow Yow! First off, I needed to include this music video of Pharrell’s “Happy” because it’s one of my favorite jamz and I probably listen to it on a weekly basis. I first heard it on the Despicable Me soundtrack and recently learned that he had turned his song into a 24 hour music video. I don’t have time to watch all of that so I just included this one. It seemed like it would be good enough.

At our company Thanksgiving last week, I admitted something quite embarrassing to my co-workers in the middle of dinner…with a mic. “If you think that I’m excited here in the office, you should just SEE ME while I’m commuting on my way to work!” I couldn’t believe I actually said that, but it’s so true. Every day, I am so excited to go to work. I’m really lucky to be a part of a company that lets me work in the social media space, that lets me merge my work with blogging and music into my role, and that allows me to take chances and risks. 2013 has done a complete 180 and I know it’s because of this job.

All that aside, I’m very grateful for my family, friends, and the opportunities that Yow Yow! has provided me. This blog has led me here and I can’t wait to see where we are going next.

Happy holidays readers!

Karl Lagerfeld will open London Flagship in 2014

Announced Wednesday, Karl Lagerfeld has revealed big news that he is opening up a London flagship in 2014 for the Karl Lagerfeld label. I haven’t done too much research into these pieces, but word on the street is that they are supposed to be more reasonably prices and geared towards a young audience.

According to The Telegraph, the upcoming London location will cater to fashion and tech lovers alike. Shoppers will be able to search inventory and watch branded content on one of the many in-store iPads, and dressing rooms come equipped with personal photo booths that feature Lagerfeld-exclusive filters. Did somebody say “selfie?”

The retails stores are a changin’! I’m curious to see how technology will merge with fashion in this way and what impact this will have on American retailers in the future. How long will it take for this trend to reach us? Months? A year? We shall see!

Performance of the Day

I’ve been wanting to catch a performance by The 1975 for quite some time so I’m pretty bummed that I missed them last night performing on Jimmy Kimmel. Thank goodness for YouTube, right? I was obsessed with this song this past year so it’s always pretty refreshing to be able to  see what the band looks like when they perform it.

Song of the Day

Blood Orange – Chamakay

The best way for me to learn about a new album is to throw it into my playlist and continue to let it run on shuffle so that when I do come across a song that I haven’t heard of before, I immediately have to check out the artist/band and its title. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the new Blood Orange album since I got it, but maybe I shouldn’t say that. I wasn’t really “pleasantly surprised” because I’ve been impressed with their previous album and other singles. Blood Orange. Get it. Listen to it. You’ll be glad you did.

Lizzie Olsen x Interview

We’re not really sure where the rest of this spread is, but this cover alone is enough to keep us interested. Lizzie looks dreamy on the cover of Interview and with an up-and-coming career, we’re pretty excited to see where her future will lead her next.

Happy Monday morning everyone and a very happy morning to my girls Ashley and Jennie!

I’m sharing with you all a video today that I think you’re going to absolutely love. I don’t think I could ever elope, myself, but when I watch videos like this, I think it could very well be a possibility. Enjoy this sweet Parisian getaway and furthermore here’s the wedding featured on Style Me Pretty!
