Bay Area Girl Scout Wins At Selling Cookies

A young Girl Scout made headlines yesterday when it was discovered that she had set up shop right outside the Green Cross medical marijuana dispensary in San Francisco. 13-year-old Danielle Lei sold 117 boxes in one day because of her genius idea! Even though you can browse i49.net and various other online sites for medical marijuana, there are still a lot of people who physically visit a dispensary in their area for access to this alternative treatment.

In recent years, dispensaries are getting increasingly popular because people have heard about all of the benefits it can provide to your health and wellness. And with the introduction of a cannabis track and trace system, authorities are now able to control all of the cannabis that is being produced. Dispensaries are able to sell cannabis products legally because they are registered to do so, but track and trace systems like this are able to see who is selling it illegally. That’s why people tend to get their products from a dispensary, either online through Amuse, to name one example, or physically. In turn, this could mean that more people can take a hint from this girl scout, and sell their cookies outside of a dispensary.

And as the teenager sold 117 boxes quickly, it just proves how popular these types of establishments are. Do we have a future entrepreneur on our hands? Looks like she’s in the right place!

Danielle’s mom, Carol Lei, tells Mashable that she usually has Danielle and her sister, who is also a Girl Scout, “set up shop at various points around San Francisco so they can learn about different environments while earning some cash. Plus, she figured this might be a good way to start a conversation about drugs and how some people use marijuana as medicine while others just get high.” Not that there’s anything necessarily wrong with smoking just to get high. People will buy special equipment, like gravity bongs (https://fatbuddhaglass.com/blogs/fat-buddha-blog/what-is-a-gravity-bong), just to get their fix of the leaf. Anyway, it’s quite possible people were only buying the cookies because they assumed they had a particular, special ingredient in them!

“They learn that they’re not drugged out,” Lei said, according to the East Bay ExpressLegalization Nation blog, which says it reports on “California cannabis culture.” “Many have serious needs, and are just a little different.”

Music Video of the Day

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyn9kmuIwqA]

Yesterday, one of my favorite Seattle bands, The Head and The Heart, unveiled their latest music video for their single “Another Story.” Not only does it tell a very sweet story about healing and moving past heartbreak, it also stars Pretty Little Liars’ actress Troian Bellisario.

What do you guys think?

Beauty for Breakfast Pt. 16

When I first created the Beauty for Breakfast series, I called it this because my morning routine was so time consuming it never allowed me to actually eat breakfast. That may sound like I am high maintenance; that’s not true. Getting ready for the day was my focus in the morning and that involved my routines, a little bit of work, getting ready from making up my face to organizing my outfit, and building up the energy I needed for that day.

For the last several years, I have been using drugstore brand mascara. They weren’t all bad. Some of them were recommended to me by beauty blogs and my always favorite Refinery29. Prior to this, I was using Diorshow (pictured above) but it became difficult for me to justify spending that much on just mascara. Over Christmas break, I was a on a shopping trip with my younger cousin when I mentioned to her that I was looking for a new mascara to use and to move past my drugstore brands. She recommended this one to me because it’s the one that she uses and it “doesn’t make her lashes look too spidery.” Having been pleased with Diorshow in the past, I decided to cave in and give it another go around. I haven’t been disappointed yet! And now that I’m not a poor college student, I guess I can finally treat myself to mascara that costs more than $10. I should be able to treat myself to the lastest make up trends every now and then. I work hard at college so there is nothing wrong with treating myself. I’m sure there are extra positives that the big brand mascaras provide that I am missing so I can’t wait to really treat myself. There is a massive range of mascaras that are on-trend at the moment, so I am sure there is so much more I can discover with a little bit more time and money.

History of Rap Pt. 5

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NO0rArJRR4]

It’s been a long week, y’all. I was about to call it quits 30 minutes ago and head to bed, but then I was reminded that Justin Timberlake would be a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon tonight. For those two, of course, I would stay up past 11:30 PM. After all, I don’t want to miss out on what could be an appearance of “History of Rap.” This wasn’t confirmed until now. You guys, I found the video. Here it is before it even airs on the West Coast. I’ve watched it and now I can sleep happily.

Photo of the Day:

Technically, this photograph was taken yesterday, but it’s too good to not share on Yow Yow! Cara Delevingne walked the Fendi show yesterday while carrying the most adorable Karl Lagerfeld doll. I need this for my desk at work.

Sub Pop to Open Record Store At SEA-TAC

I know I said I would try and refrain from writing Seattle posts after I moved away, but who are we kidding? I’ve put a little distance between me and the Seattle blogs I read on a daily basis, but every once in awhile, some news will slip through and I know if I don’t mention it – no one else will. That’s not true. Someone else will write it, but I would prefer it if I did.

Today, I learned that my favorite SEA-TAC airport home of the very intense security checking and some amazing Mac and Cheese at Beechers is getting a record store sponsored by Sub Pop. Does YOUR airport have a record store? That’s what I thought. In Spring 2014, the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport will open up a new space within the airport to sell current and re-issued LPs from their artist roster along with some Sub Pop merchandise.

Seattle music is continuing to dominate once again. All my frands not from Seattle are going to get musical treats from me, maybe.

Take Me There:

By now most of you may have caught on that I select “Take Me There:” photographs straight from my Pinterest board “Outside Seattle.” However, I still haven’t narrowed down how exactly these are the places I want to go at this very moment. I’ve been going in order and it’s easy that way. These are all places that I want to go to and someday hope to travel to, but I also wonder if it is sometimes the photographs that entice me the most. This one for example is a pretty picture. The minamalistic look, the straight lines, the warmth that these people are experiencing that I am not – these are all contributing factors. “Take Me There:” this series is not a science, you guys.

BTW this is in Jesolo Italy and it’s from the Beach House luxury apartments. When can we move in?

Ariana Grande x V Magazine

Her transformation from Nickelodeon television series star to chart topping singer has been amazing. I never get tired of hearing / seeing her perform and I think it’s great that Victorious launched her into this career. I’m just crossing my fingers that she’ll turn out alright unlike some of her other peers. Perez Hilton recently (and falsely) accused her of doing coke at a club recently. She’s denying it and going ahead and suing him – so I’ve heard. Do you Ariana. We hope the rumors aren’t true though!
