A Big Change for Bumbershoot 2014

After three years, the Bumbershoot organizers are giving fans what they really want – for the Main Stage to move out of the Key Arena and back into Memorial Stadium. Growing up, I’ve been a long time fan of the music festival and I’ve stuck by them because of how memorable the event always made my summer, but using the Key Arena as the Main Stage was not ideal.

The lines were endless and wrapped around the Seattle Center until you were dizzy. You always felt like you were walking into a sinking dark hole to see a concert when you were really supposed to be at a music festival. Lastly, it was just plain dangerous. Kids are crazy these days and I’ll never forget the time I nearly died at M83 when teenagers were jumping over the seats to try and get to the floor. I’m happy to say that I won’t have to do that again this year.

Apparently the reason for the move is that the WNBA will be holding their finals at the Key Arena on the first day of the festival – Saturday, August 30th. Bummer. Looks like it’s good news for us though! However, don’t expect the Main Stage to look like how it did 3 years ago. Apparently there will be two stages set up in the area with headliners and openers performing in between the headliners’ sets.

We are very excited about this news.

Wedding Mondays

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/83530754]

Good evening everyone! Kevin said that I was sluffing on Wedding Mondays today just because he didn’t have one waiting for him this morning. I forget a lot of little things, but I never forget what is supposed to happen on Mondays. We’ve been a little bit behind on the blog for the past couple of days, but I’ve been away! I just spent the second part of my birthday celebration in San Diego and because I was there, I had Ashley (another Wedding Mondays follower) by my side to help me pick out the next two videos (this ones and next Monday’s) Wedding Mondays video. I’m a huge sucker for long relationships and when I heard that this one spanned seven years, my heart was a flutter. The commentary and speeches from friends and family were so sweet and enough to make the cut for this week.

Enjoy! Here’s the rest of the post at Style Me Pretty.

Katy Perry – Birthday

Where was this song when I was turning 24?! I heard this on the radio yesterday and quickly noticed that it was Katy Perry. I loved it up until she started whispering “Happy Birthday” in the middle of the song and at the end. Um, what? So seductive and so unnecessary.

Currently Craving:

I always feel like I’m hungriest when I’m feeling sick and when I’m sick I have cravings for things that may not necessarily help in getting me better. After all, who wants to be chugging on liquid soup all day long. However, if anyone knows me at all, you know that I never ever get sick of eating sushi and could probably eat it several times a week. In fact, I have. Can someone let me know if a shrimp tempura roll is the cure for a sore throat? I have an inkling that it is.

Starbucks Evenings

Seattle coffee chain Starbucks is introducing a new concept to their stores called “Starbucks Evenings.” We all know what it’s like to arrive at our own local Starbucks for the morning rush, but it looks like the chain is hoping to bring either a new crowd or that same crowd to their stores after work as well. Unveiling in major cities including Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, and Portland, Starbucks will begin to sell alcoholic drinks and offer up appetizer and dessert menus to customers after 4PM. Food items will include chicken skewers, macaroni n’ cheese, and chocolate fondue with a selection of wines and beers varying at different stores.

Happy Wedding Mondays!

I’m more than a little late today, but that’s partially because I was celebrating my birthday! To make up for lost time, I decided to give you an extra long wedding video today, but don’t worry – it’s worth every second of your time. With that said, I’m going to make this pretty short, but enjoy the video and the super cute post here at Green Wedding Shoes!

xoxo

Tei Shi – Nevermind the End (Saint Pepsi Remix)

This song is just so pretty. I’ve been listening to it on repeat this week and I can’t get enough of it.
