Robinson Cano Gets Booed and Then Gets the Love

[youtube=http://youtu.be/0b9rOji_PWY]

The New York Yankee fans aren’t happy that Robinson Cano left them for the Seattle Mariners (even though we are!) but that hate turns into love when Robinson Cano is standing right in front of them. During this segment on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Robinson Cano takes to the streets of his old stomping grounds in which Yankee fans think they are booing at a cardboard picture of his head until they are surprised to find Cano himself stepping out from behind. Immediately, those boos are turned into handshakes. This is cute. Go Mariners!

Wedding Mondays

I know what this looks like. It looks like I completely forgot Wedding Mondays. The honest truth is that I scoured my wedding blogs this entire week and even until the end of today to see if there was a right wedding video to select for the series. There wasn’t. I watched a handful from this week and none of them were up to the standard that we hold for Wedding Mondays. I even watched one video right before writing this post and within the first 10 seconds had to shut it off because it was being narrated by a preachy officiant. I really don’t enjoy wedding videos that start off like that or officiants that shout at their guests.

This is the first time in a long time that we haven’t been able to feature a video on Wedding Mondays and while I’m disappointed that I didn’t have anything to give today, I’m not willing to sacrifice the quality of this series by giving you a video that I actually don’t love. We’ve seen so many amazing wedding videos from this and to showcase one that is anything but doesn’t seem right. I hope that there will be a video that I come across that we can use next week. Until then, here’s a really good looking wedding that took place in Seattle with details that I absolutely love.

1. Geronimo style balloons

2. Tassel garland

3. Pastel color palette

4. Letters done pinata style

Well done, wedding.

A Toy Plane and an iPhone

There are Instagram users that become insta-famous for their selfies. Then there are Instagram users like Varun Thota who challenge us to look at photographs in a different way. Using a toy plane and his iPhone, Varun takes his plane on a journey with every snap.

Macau-based web designer and developer Varun Thota is the son of a helicopter and a devoted flight enthusiast. His childhood was filled with hours in front flight simulators and even today he carries a small Kinder egg airplane that he likes to photograph against dramatic backgrounds, as if a hand was reaching out of the sky controling each flight. It’s a simple enough idea, but wonderfully executed by Thota. You can see more over on his Instagram account. (via the Instagram Blog)

Ariana Grande’s Dance Moves

[youtube=http://youtu.be/uwPFUeY_Ifo]

This past weekend, Ariana performed her new single “Problem” ft. Iggy Azalea at the Radio Disney Music Awards and looked adorable while doing so. Typically in her performances, she isn’t much of a dancer, but Ariana was showing a cuter side to her self this past weekend and we’re hoping to see more of it! I actually read in an article once that she is a dancer, but just doesn’t showcase it usually and she’s really quite good. We’ll probably have “Problem” as the Song of the Day later on this week, but now you can listen to it here in this performance!

BFD 2014

I was already very excited that I would be attending Outside Lands this summer, but last week a co-worker of mine let slip that there was another music event happening right in the backyard of our office! So naturally, we’re going. The lineup is full of artists that I would love to see perform. I’m just surprised as to what they are even doing in Mountain View, but I won’t complain.

I am very much looking forward to seeing on June 1st:

  • Foster the People
  • MS MR
  • Phantogram
  • RAC
  • M.I.A.
  • Fitz and the Tantrums
  • Bear Hands
  • The Knocks

And any other artists that I will have time for!

For more information, click here. Can’t wait to cover the event for you all!

Knitted Comfort Food

Two things warm my insides. Comfort foods. And knitted things. Jessica Dance and David Sykes have accomplished both of those things with their latest series of knitted comfort foods. Awwww!

Years and Years – Real

I’m quite proud that good music tastes run in my family. My 14-year old cousin introduced this song to me in the car yesterday while we were running errands and I haven’t stopped listening to it ever since. I don’t even know who this band is and I don’t really care.
