Yow Yow! Goes Back to Seattle!

I’m starting to think that no matter how often I go back to Seattle or how long I stay, it will never be enough. I took a trip back last weekend for the long holiday and those three days quickly escaped from me. While I saw most of the friends I wanted to see, I didn’t see all of them. I didn’t get to eat at all my favorite places or venture back to my old hometown. We did as much as we could though! However, it looks like some of the things that we didn’t get to do will just have to roll over into our next trip!

Pictured above: a view of the prettiest chandelier at The Walrus and the Carpenter in Ballard. I absolutely love this little town and this was my first time stopping by this restaurant. It opens at 4 and you’ve got to be in line by the time it opens if you want to grab a seat without waiting. We got pretty lucky!

I’ve never had any real reason to stop by the Seattle Public Library other than to marvel at this incredible building. Walking through it, you kind of just feel like you are encompassed in this glass dome. It’s such a pretty space.

A sampling of all 7 of their different kinds of oysters (2 of each!) They offer up all their guests the opportunity to try the ones they have from their selection so that you can decide what you like the most and order specifically the one you like afterwards. We did that. Twice.

Dessert at Hot Cakes! We shared the Nutella Molten Lava Chocolate Cake. Amazing.

After dinner and dessert, we spent some extra time perusing some of the shops and boutiques that were still open. We stumbled along one called Prism that had everything we loved. There were also quite a few space references which both of us are a fan of. How darling is this card?!

These minimalistic necklaces were too great. I picked up the 2nd one (plain gold bar) and can’t wait to wear it with all of my plain black tops.

Shoutouts to Henry G. and my favorite Jennie! We went to a bar in Ballard called Shelter Lounge which has an indoor fire pit letting guests roast their own s’mores every night! Yes, we made a s’more and it was delicious.

Oddfellows

One last brunch at Oddfellows before flying back to San Francisco! The most amazing special frittata for Memorial Day.
