I can’t believe I still enjoy these movies, but Liam Neeson is just too good.

Wedding Mondays

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/107222836]

Happy Wedding Mondays everyone! I’m getting to that point in my life where weddings are not just something that I seek out on my own because I love them. I’m getting to this age where it starts to become my entire newsfeed. I mean, I don’t hate it though. My manager once told me that people love seeing these stories pop up and that’s why when someone gets into a relationship or gets engaged or married, they have a gazillion likes and are always at the top of your newsfeed as a top story.

Additionally, people like to see a bit of inspiration. Maybe they’re planning their own wedding, or they’re attending a wedding soon and don’t know what to wear. A wedding takes a lot of thought and preparation, so it can be good to borrow ideas that you like from pictures of other people’s weddings. Choosing a dress code is often a big decision – do you go formal or informal? Similarly, finding a venue can be a mission in itself. This Wedding Venue in Fort Worth, TX might be perfect for those who like the idea of a big barn wedding, but alternatively, you might want a traditional church wedding instead.

The season can make a big difference. Summer will make for gorgeous lighting, but it can get sweaty and uncomfortable. Winter offers the chance for glistening snow and festive decor, but it can be cold and miserable too. That’s why most people opt for a spring or autumn wedding as it offers a good in-between. Remember, the further your venue is from home, the fewer guests will be able to travel to get to you, so consider whether accommodation is affordable for everyone. If you’re expecting a lot from your guests, it falls to you to pay for their troubles.

Today’s Monday has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions so if you’re looking for something that might make you tear up a bit, this wedding video will most likely be IT. I’ve never been a huge fan of speeches at weddings because sometimes I don’t find them funny or I just think they drag on a bit. When my friend got married this past month, her younger sister made an amazing toast and this one reminded me of that.

Ariana Grande’s Performance on SNL

[youtube=http://youtu.be/cVyxCKoO7AU]

This was her first time performing “Love Me Harder” live on TV and it was nice to see The Weeknd join her for it. This is slated to be her next single released. Also The Weeknd totally outshines her on this performance. It feels like she’s really holding back and relying on the backing track for most of this song except for a few rifts.

I also loved how she started out with “Break Free” and was hoping that she would almost continue doing the whole song in this arrangement. Was it just me or did it seem like she was really tired when the song started picking up and she had to mildly dance along to it?

A Weekend of Documentaries

[youtube=http://youtu.be/8OEjYquyjcg]

We had a very lazy Saturday last weekend and while we only had planned to watch one movie, we ended up watching two documentaries back to back. Blackfish is a documentary that I had been wanting to watch for a long time. I still remember when it first came out and/or was released to Netflix and that’s all anyone was talking about on my newsfeed. I’m not sure why I didn’t take the opportunity to watch it then. It’s probably because I knew that it would always be there when I was ready to watch it. And boy, do you have to be ready to watch something like this.

I had been to  Sea World once as a kid and didn’t think too much of it back then. I felt like it was a zoo with just a ton of water which is essentially what it is. However, watching this film, I felt a little bit scared for not only the orca whales, but also the humans that are constantly at risk when they are working with them. As a spectator at Sea World, you never really view it that way. Watching this was pretty depressing and afterwards, I felt like it took a lot out of me even though it was informative. We made sure that the next documentary we watched was kind of the opposite of this.

One of my brother’s best friends worked on this film last year as an editor and while this may seem biased – I actually think it is one of the best editing jobs I’ve ever seen. I’m such a sucker when it comes to kids and I knew I was planning on watching this documentary for a long time, but someone else needed a little bit more convincing. “I don’t really want to watch a movie about golf” “I don’t know anything about it.” But really, we’re not watching the film because we like golf or know anything about it. We’re watching it because these kids are amazingly talented and also because of the relationships they have with their parents. It’s pretty interesting to observe. While I’ve never been much of an athlete or a competitive person, I felt like I related with Amari who is a 7-year old in this movie who constantly beats herself up when she makes a mistake. I might not like competing with others, but I definitely can relate to competing with myself and know that feeling all too well. She’s also got the most sass out of all these kids, but really all of them are pretty great.
