Trey Songz – Slow Motion
As we get closer and closer to the Super Bowl, this stuff just gets better and better.
Marshawn – please don’t leave. You’re the best player.
First vacation of the year – check! I’m finally now at an age where it has become maybe not a little bit easier, but more convenient for my cousins and I to get together. When we were younger, we were on family trips and there were a lot more people around, but now that we’re adults, we get to plan the trip and we get to do all the things we like doing. There’s a sort of an independence that comes with it and I think that’s why I enjoyed my weekend in Portland so much. A handful of my cousins are still in school ie) Grad school, dental school, etc. They’re all smarty pants! Kristie and I have never actually been to Portland before and since one of our cousins is currently living there and in school, we knew it would be the perfect place to visit first.
I had been itching to experience Portland for myself because for years all I’ve heard was that it was better than Seattle, worse than Seattle, more hipster than Seattle, etc. And now that I’ve finally seen it, I have my own opinions to make. First off, Portland is gorgeous. The trees, the bridges, the water – all things that reminded me of home without actually being at home. I love the little neighborhoods – Alberta, Alphabet District, Pearl, NW 23rd – it’s like any other major city that has their own area. I did, however, find the pace of Portland to be much slower, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, just something I’m not used to. Our cousin also let us borrow his car the first day we were there and I found it to be fairly straightforward to get around. Let’s talk about the things we ate though since that’s usually the only reason why we write these posts.
I don’t know about all of you, but we’re getting incredibly excited for the Super Bowl on Sunday! To get all of you on the same level, here is Marshawn’s press conference with Skittles. I just feel so bad for how much he gets fined. Won’t everyone just leave him alone and let him be him?
Spring 2015 Couture
Oh geez, we’re only one month into the year, but already all I’ve been thinking about is money. I’m thinking about my friends who are buying places, a 401K (which FYI I hate thinking about. Logging into Fidelity is death.) my co-workers who are light years ahead of me in investing and whether or not I’m going to continue renting next year. These days, the thought of money is just running my life, but isn’t it for everyone? My friend Toby told me over the holidays that if there’s one advice she could give me it would be tosave. Save now. But unless I’m doing it automatically, it’s difficult for me to know the best way to do that.
Can saving be eating out just one a day on the weekends? Skipping my morning coffee? Spending less on my credit card every month? There’s really no right or wrong answer. I think every 20-year old I know is just trying to figure it out on their own. I stumbled upon this infographic today about what someone has to earn in every state in order to be in the top 1%. Well, it’s just the 1% so the best thing about this infographic is knowing you’re not alone!
Pvris – Holy
Little Big Burger in Portland yesterday. In-N-Out for dinner tonight. If I had a Seattle’s Dick’s Drive In tomorrow, I would have been nailin’ it. No joke though – I love In-N-Out. Can’t believe I went so long not living in the same state as it…
We promise we’re not being lazy. Sometimes, there just aren’t any videos that we feel stronly about sharing with all of you and when it comes to Wedding Mondays, we’re not going to skimp.
Not every video is going to make us tear up, but we want it to evoke some kind of feeling and for the past two weeks, none have struck a chord with us. Wedding Mondays will continue, but we can’t promise that they’ll be a wedding video waiting for your here every Monday, but we’ll do our very best to make this happen for you… because we’re happier when we can have a Wedding Monday!
