BHLDN Introduces Separates

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/125376578]

BHLDN is changing the bridal game with their new video introducing separates! As if Bridal Week didn’t get us excited enough, BHLDN is kind of making my feels skyrocket a bit. First off, how dreamy are these pieces? I love the idea that in this day and age we’re stepping back from tradition and brides everywhere are becoming less afraid to do something totally unique. This video touches on a few of those things:

1) Separates in general

2) mix and match pieceing and coloring

3) the little white dress

4) two looks in one

I recently viewed a wedding feature in which the bride did not only a first look with her groom, but a second look as well. In the second look she transformed from her big bridal gown ie) pulled off the skirt and unveiled a slimmed down reception dress. It was perfect.

Needless to say, we are very excited about what’s to come for BHLDN.

Seattle Summer Recipes Anytime

Today is the first time in a long time that it doesn’t really feel like summer in the Bay Area. All week, the forecast has been telling me that today was going to be filled with showers and a bit of lightning so we’re indoors being productive. One of my favorite things about summer in Seattle is the seafood you get to have all season long. Granted, seafood is good pretty much anytime, but it just tastes better in the summer. Plus you get to eat outdoors and stuff and oysters are more in season at the end of summer anyways! Though I’m not much of a cook anymore – let’s just call it a hiatus – that doesn’t mean I don’t have cravings. From my Pinterest board, here are five of my favorite seafood recipes that we believe were made for the summer. We haven’t tried them yet, but maybe you can and let me know what you think!

Fuller House

Because we absolutely needed to talk about the revival of “Full House!” Earlier this week, the news broke out that Netflix would be bringing Full House back to life and the plot line got us even more excited.

According to E! the new series will follow older sister, D.J. Tanner-Fuller (wow, that pun!), played by Candace Cameron-Bure, who is “a pregnant veterinarian – recently widowed – and living in San Francisco.” Jodie Sweetin, who played middle sister Stephanie Tanner, and Andrea Barber, D.J.’s BFF-neighbor Kimmy Gibbler will also star in the series. It’s also heard that John Stamos will co-star and produce.

Now, of course we would love it if Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen would reprise their role as Michelle Tanner, but it looks like Lori Loughlin isn’t holding her breath and threw a little shade saying she doubts that they even care about the revival. However, after a post I saw yesterday from Ohnotheydidnt, it looks like it’s not completely off the table for the twins.

Mary-Kate said, “We just found out about it today. I guess we’re going to talk to the creators and see what’s happening.”

Meanwhile Ashley said she was surprised that her old co-stars hadn’t mentioned anything to her. “I ran into Bob [Saget] the other day and we didn’t even talk about it. I’m shocked I haven’t heard from John [Stamos].”

As to whether they’ll participate, Ashley said, “I’m going to call [Saget] and get his perspective.”

Omg. It’s really happening! Now #whereiscomet

Also, was D.J.’s husband Steve?! Did Steve die? I have so many questions.

Our Favorite Looks From Bridal Week

Oscar de la Renta

Truth: My hands are so sore from climbing this evening that it hurts to type right now, but I just didn’t want to wait a full week to pass before we wrote a post about this. What I find really funny about the fashion industry is that the pieces we see are always predicting trends for the future. Even though bridal week just happened last week, these dresses are for Spring 2016. An entire year from now! How do we know that these trends are still going to be “in?” Well, we just have to trust that that’s how this works and that’s how it always has been, rkght? With that food for thoughts, let’s get into some of my favorite gowns from bridal week. Now, this doesn’t mean that these are gowns I could ever see myself in, some of them are, but some of them I just like for other reasons.

Emily Ratajkowski for Free People Intimates

You recognize her from Gone Girl. Before that, you saw her in Robin Thicke’s music video for “Blurred Lines.” Now? Emily’s all over the Free People intimates lookbook in all of the pieces we want to own. Lingerie, I’ve decided, is something people care about in their later 20’s. In college, you could care less about the things you were wearing underneath your clothes. However, in your late 20’s, you start calling your bras and panties… delicates. It just brings a whole new meaning to that word.

For more looks, click the cut below. And for tips on how to organize your delicates? Free People has got you covered there too.

In Couples Breaking Up This Week…

Big Sean and Ariana Grande – 8 months of dating

Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger – 5 months of dating

Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield – over 3 years of dating. This one was just confirmed and makes me the saddest.

And in whatever news, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are finally getting a divroce. Breakups all around and it’s only TUESDAY!
