Wedding Mondays

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/114937301]

I thought we were going to miss it! I was very very close to just closing my laptop and heading off to bed, but it doesn’t feel right to do that when you haven’t watched a single wedding video all week long and today is that day when you’re supposed to post one. And Jennie and Ashley are waiting 😉 Aren’t you, girls?

Well, I have something to say about this wedding video. I don’t like this song. And I almost wanted to pass over it because of that, but then I reconsidered because I found another cheesy detail that I also thought that I would dislike, but then came to love – the fact that this couple had a red carpet at their wedding. However, when the bride and the groom are scriptwriters working in television and having their wedding take place on the CBS Studios Backlot, they can pretty much get away with anything. Really though, the details looked so good that I didn’t have a bad thing to say about it by the end of the video. In fact, I thought their reception set-up was absolute perfection. Need further proof?

We hope you enjoy Lauren and Andy’s wedding details and video as much as we did! See the rest at Green Wedding Shoes!

Where Did We Roll Out Of?

Dress – Aritzia / Cardigan – Madewell

Did we just roll out of a long work day or out of bed? We really wanted to try something different with this look earlier this summer not only in the outfit, but the colors, and the pose. I haven’t decided quite yet if I was able to pull it off correctly, but it’s still nice to take a risk. I’ve actually never worn these two pieces together before, but I loved the texture in the dress with the velvet flowers and the wool cardigan. This is also a dress that I normally reserve for evenings, but I feel much better when I know that I can purchase pieces that end up being more versatile. Also, how great is this blue brick wall? We’re running out of photo locations in Mountain View. This is one of my favorites!

Taylor Swift – Wildest Dreams

In case you missed it, Taylor Swift released the music video for her newest single “Wildest Dreams” last night during the pre-show of the VMAs and we’re in love with it. The first time I ever heard this song was a few weeks ago at her concert and really found myself mesmerized by it. I couldn’t wait for the video to be shot and released and now the video paints an even more vivid picture of the story. It’s very romantical and sweet and makes me confused because I cannot tell whether or not I have a love/hate relationship with Taylor. It’s probably love though.

PDX Rug for Sale

Because everyone loves the old carpet at the PDX Airport so much, they’ve turned it into a rug. And it’s perfectly hipster and retro in every way. I saw the carpet for the first time when I flew to Portland back in January (both the new and the old) and actually kind of understand why everyone loves it so much. It’s totally 90’s and adorable. You know you want this for your living room now. Don’t even lie to yourself. The rug pieces are 4’x6′ and require that you pick it up in stores for $280. If you want it shipped to you, you’ll have to pay for it entirely by yourself. Wow, serious business.

Hippo Campus – Suicide Saturday

I once went through a phase where I ONLY listened to music like this. It felt like such California lifestyle when I was living in Seattle. Maybe it was a sign of the future.

Alexander Wang’s Anniversary Collection

To celebrate 10 years of Alexander Wang, he’s bringing back some classic favorites in his latest anniversary collection. The #Wang10 capsule is a celebration of his 10 best selling looks. Just a month ago, his team reached out to fans to vote on some of their favorite looks  (which I also participated in) and as promised the ones with the highest votes would be brought back and sold once again. The 10 were narrowed down from 25. Some of these looks are iconic and very true to Alexander Wang. He really is just a phenomenal designer. The looks are currently available for pre-order here. Get them while you can because it’s likely that they won’t ever come back…or maybe they will in another 10 years!

Our Next Bachelor

I mean as if we didn’t already know this by the end of the last season of The Bachelorette! What took them so long to announce it? Maybe because they didn’t want all of the people auditioning for the show to only be there because of Ben and wanted to still have that element of surprise. I bet that by doing this they eliminated some of the crazies. Ben Higgins was a favorite of mine throughout the last season, but I couldn’t really picture him with Kaitlyn. He reminded me of Catherine from Sean Lowe’s season though in which he kind of stayed under the radar, but was always very classy and a gentleman. It wasn’t until Katilyn had asked him if he was a virgin that Ben started to lighten up a litle bit and show a more humorous side to him. And then all of the girls died and were like Kaitlyn/Nick/Sean who?

Exactly. It’s Ben’s turn now and we can’t wait!
