Wedding Mondays

The wedding we’re sharing today is very very special. Alyssa and I were classmates in high school and when I heard that she was engaged, I knew her wedding was going to be incredible, but after seeing her wedding photos featured on Ruffled, I was completely blown away by the attention to detail, the fairytale theme, and how exquisite everything looked. We aren’t sharing a wedding video today, but I did want to take some time to share some of my favorite details from her special day. One of my dearest friends was also Alyssa’s Maid of Honor and is also on her way down the aisle next year as well!

Alyssa put a lot of her own work and time into this wedding which I really admired because while everyone wants to take on all of these DIY projects, a lot of brides usually end up feeling overwhelmed by the thought of it. She did all of the caligraphy herself doing the save the dates and hand lettering all the addresses on the save the dates and invitations. On top of that, she also did the name cards. How amazing do these look?

I’m a huge fan of lots and lots of greenery for reception tables and she did this pretty perfectly. I think a few years ago, everyone wanted flowers, flowers, and more flowers, but I find that these pieces of greenery really bring out an understated elegance.

How adorable are these animals spray painted gold as name cards?! Gelesia (Alyssa’s Maid of Honor) told me that they spent a fair bit of time getting all of these DIY details ready for the wedding, but they really all came together. This is such a nice touch. They even tried to assign each animal to every guest with intention.

I’ve developed a serious love for these half-frosted wedding cakes. I have Mandi to thank for this! This is just very very pretty.
