Wilfred Rosa Dress – $55

What’s Christmas without a little after Christmas Day shopping?! Aritzia was holding their annual Boxing Day sale and of course we couldn’t pass this opportunity up. This time around, I thought I was going to be leaving with a turtleneck of some kind (dress or sweater) and something velvety, but instead I left with a sleeveless dress that I could wear layered during the cold months and well into the spring/summer and a dress that had been sold out for a few weeks and then brought back! When you put on this sweater dress, it’s like wearing pajamas and the coziest thing you’ve ever put on. And because I never feel like I have enough sweaters…we bought one more cardigan to add to the closet.

Wedding Mondays

I have to be honest with you all. I just found out that one of my first friends from college just got engaged (a long time coming!) anddddddd I’m a mess. I’m a mess because this friend of mine means so much to me and I’m so happy to hear that he and his girlfriend are finally tying the knot after six years together. Congratulations Eric and Alyssa! I’m going to be very excited when it’s your wedding that I’m sharing here on Yow Yow!

I’ve been trying to write this post for 13 minutes now and I keep getting so distracted by this news – but let’s just jump right into it. Ever since I moved here, I’m all about these weddings. I love seeing the different locations, the London charm that everyone talks about, and the stories that the couples have to share about their wedding day and their relationship. I’m noticing this pattern that many couples meet in London (so there’s hope!). But there are also a lot of couples who have been in long-distance relationships and then eventually move there (see Mayfair Immigration – UK Spouse Visa for more information) to start their lives together, which I think is really fascinating. Why this city? Then again, I’ve been there for the last couple of years so another part of me is thinking, well why not? It’s a great city.

Emma and Bubba seem like such a picture-perfect couple together. Literally, their pictures are amazing. First off, we can’t get enough of her two-tone dress. I’ve never imagined myself in anything BUT a white dress on my own wedding day, but this is starting to make me reconsider.

Also, did I forget to mention that Emma is one of my favorite bloggers that I’ve been following for years?!

Yow Yow’s Top 10 Posts of 2015

So the funny part about this post is that most of these were not even written by me! They were written by Mandi! So while this just means that I probably need to put in a little bit more work into Yow Yow! (which we all know) – I also want to highlight how proud I am of Mandi. It has been so fun to share in this experience with her and give her an outlet to share her views throughout her wedding planning process. It really has been seamless. Since we’ve started doing this, I know a lot of her friends and family have told her how much they enjoy hearing about her planning when they are afar. I’m glad that Yow Yow! has been a place for everyone to come together, which reminds me that a long time ago, that was one of the reasons we made this blog.

With that, here are our top 10 posts from the year 2015:

  1. I Like Your Style…Kiernan Shipka
  2. Wedding Wednesdays – Finalizing a Venue
  3. Review: Ariana Grande’s Honeymoon Tour
  4. Wedding Wednesdays – Wedding Confidence

Currently Craving:

The worst thing about being sick is all of the things that you can’t eat. Since I’m currently home and sick over Christmas break, my parents have got me on a strict diet that includes no dairy, no butter, no sweets of any kind, and nothing that will make me even sicker. I realize I  did this to myself so they’re really not to blame, but it’s torture! I’ve been having a very heavy craving for duck pate on toast – 25 year old me is so refined these days! – and not having it over the holidays is kind of a huge bummer. I haven’t even made it into the city yet to have all of my favorite meals. Happy holidays to sick little ‘ol me! Current status: starving.

What You’ll Wear to Ring in 2016

Modern-Citizen Handkerchief Draped Dress – $88

Can I just say this? I don’t like New Year’s very much. I think the holiday (if you can even call it that) is completely overrated. There’s so much pressure to have plans and do something very extravagant and as I’m getting older, that’s just not something that I want to do. I just want to have a nice meal and chill. Except this year, we have a Gatsby’s themed party to attend so that’s more exciting than any other day. Last year though, my friends and I spent almost $100 on tickets to see Mayer Hawthorne at some club in San Francisco. Now I love Mayer Hawthorne, but I didn’t love this event. It was crowded, a little bit uncomfortable, and just not worth the money we paid for it. Whatever the case, we’re not going to slum it for New Year’s Day so you won’t be seeing us in leggings or sweats so here are some last minute grabs for whatever event you’re going to.

Count Em’ 1, 2… 60? 2015

Honestly, I was looking forward to writing this post the post after I turned on my “Vacation” responder. This is actually one of my favorite posts to write every year because it’s a great way to look back on all the things I’ve listened to that I loved – all for different reasons. There were more albums than ever that I loved listening to over and over again. Every year, I say that these are not done in any particular order – that’s kind of false this year. There is at least a little bit of order. I started from January of 2015 and worked my way all the way down to December 15th so if you listen to it from top to bottom, you might get a sense of different feels from the seasons and throughout the year. One thing that we’re doing this year that’s completely new is that I made a playlist of all these songs so you can listen to it straight from Yow Yow! It didn’t take that much extra work, but I thought that it would be nice to have. It’s at the bottom for ya!

Merry Khristmas from the Kardashians

Screen Shot 2015-12-23 at 6.46.08 PM

This year’s Kardashian Christmas card looks a little bit different than in previous years. Instead of featuring the whole family, it looks like the 3rd generation Kardashians are hogging all the spotlight. How adorable is P? She’s my favorite of them all though all the kids look really great in this photo!
