Governor’s Ball 2016 Lineup

Screen Shot 2016-01-09 at 6.50.00 PM

Out of all of the music festival lineups that were released this week, Governor’s Ball is the one that I’m the most excited about… but probably the one I’ll be least likely to attend only because I don’t think I’ll have a chance to go to New York twice this year! There’s been rumors that this is actually the best Governor’s Ball lineup that anyone has ever seen and I’m not arguing that. At first sight, I was in shock at how amazing these acts are and how lucky these attendees will be to get to see these people LIVE! Who am I most excited about? Oh so many…

  • Father John Misty
  • Chet Faker
  • Years & Years
  • Lord Huron
  • Death Cab for Cutie (always!)
  • Kanye
  • Miike Snow
  • Two Door Cinema Club
  • Miguel
  • Jamie XX
  • Bloc Party
  • Galantis
  • Vic Mensa

Wow even looking at this lineup again, there were a few people that I realized I didn’t even see the first time around!

Is It Bikini Season Already?!

For Love & Lemons Ibiza Bikini Top / Bottom – $275

It isn’t. But I’m headed to Puerta Vallarta at the end of the month to celebrate one of my favorite girls getting married in 2016 and after assessing what I would be packing with me, I realized that I could probably use a few more swimsuits. It’s been a while since I’ve actually been on a vacation like this or a beach – which is absurd right, cause I live in California? I didn’t think that I’d be able to find anything that I’d like right now much less know of any retailers having their collections out, but we’re in luck! Last year, we were really into cut-outs in swimsuits, but this year, we’re kind of gravitating towards something a little different. One of my friends recently bought a wrap bikini top and she looked amazing! I’ve seen loads of gorgeous bikinis on Instagram so it’s been quite fun going through lots of pictures and getting some inspiration. When it comes to swimwear, comfort is key for me. I want to wear something that makes me feel really confident and sexy. Honestly, I want something that can help me show off my smooth skin (which anyone can get if they consider opting for a Semper Laser Hair Removal Treatment and body scrub). The truth is I spend a lot of time picking out my new swimwear pieces because of this reason! I like to go for a variety of styles like one-pieces, bikinis, tankinis, etc. Shopping for swimwear is definitely my forte, so websites like Hermoza are frequently looked at. So here are a few things I’ve had my eye on and maybe you can all help me pick out one or two that you like best so we can get it ready for Mexico! I can’t wait to go!!

Dress – Aritzia / Hat – Nordstrom / Black boots

This is truly one of my favorite summer looks! I remember when I was back home and in Aritzia with my mom shopping around their summer sale and spotted this dress for the first time. It’s pretty ordinary, right? I never leave that store without buying at least something and while this dress was pretty plain, I knew that I would find quite a few uses for it. It’s the perfect dress to slip on over your head when you don’t have anything else to wear, but need something to wear. It’s so effortless, cute, and airy for those really really hot summer days we get in the Bay Area. I sometimes don’t like wearing things that are shapeless on me so with this dress, I usually take one of my hair ties from my wrist and knot it at the bottom just to create enough of a cinch to fit my body a little bit better. Also, we were obsessed with this hat so no explanation necessary as to why it’s in this photo. Again.

Stay-In Saturday

You may have noticed that things have been a bit quiet on Yow Yow! this week. That wasn’t the plan at all. In fact, we had plans for a more elaborate shoot this week to celebrate Yow Yow!’s 7 birthday. We planned on posting more than we ever have and in general just staying up to date with news. The reason we were sidetracked is because I’ve basically been on/off sick since November and just when I thought I was getting better, I spent two days at work and the next two days at home recovering. The Asian way of recovering from a sickness is that you just power through with water, soup, no dairy and no medication. Well Thursday, I threw in the towel – went to Urgent Care and as soon as I sat down, just told my doctor the situation and told her that she should just slip me a Z-Pack. When I say “slip” I mean “formally prescribe me it so that I can pick it up at my nearby pharmacy” of course!

Things are a little better, but not 100% quite yet. Whatever the case though, a little rest never hurt anyone. For many years – since college even – I’ve been so used to always being on the move and having something planned every part of the day that that’s what leads me to get sick in the first place. We tried to stay in bed for as long as we could, but even I couldn’t get that part right. So today we’re going to rest. We’ll take it easy and do a little work and we’ll get to all those blog posts we said we would get to… right… now!

BottleRock 2016

Wine country is one of those things that I never had the opportunity to appreciate until I moved to the Bay Area. I feel like I’ve spent so much time in Sonoma and Napa since I’ve moved here and every year I’ve always wanted to go to Bottle Rock, but never had a chance to. It’s too early for me to commit to tickets just yet, but I’m very excited for the lineup! Any time we see Death Cab… <3

Wedding Mondays

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/128329298]

When we have 15-minute long wedding videos, it has to mean that we REALLY like them. I loved Richard and Alyssa’s wedding in Scottsdale. A good wedding video is a beautiful one. It’s a wedding video in which you see details that you think look nice and could someday see in your own wedding. A good wedding video leaves you feeling satisfied at the end – like what you just watched wasn’t a waste of time and was well worth it. A great wedding video is something else though. Sure, everything that I just described is peachy and wonderful, but in addition to falling in love with the story, you fall in love with the couple. They’re the type of people that seem so genuine and nice that you want to be friends with them. I know that’s kind of silly, but the wedding videos that are my favorites are ones in which I adore the couple in them. Richard and Alyssa were that wedding video.
