Summer, Let’s Not Say Goodbye

Dress – Urban Outfitters / Belt – Anthropologie

We just got back from our last trip of the summer – a weekend getaway to Sonoma – and as we were heading back into the Bay Area, we started to notice the leaves on the trees turning. It. Is. Really. Happening. We’re a little excited, a lot a bit nervous, but there’s something that makes me feel really energized about going into my busiest season. I’ve actually had this dress since somewhere in college and since it’s pretty sheer, it’s not exactly work appropriate or wearing-out-in-public appropriate either. In fact, let’s call it more of a swimsuit coverup. I decided recently that since I don’t wear a whole lot of swimsuit coverups, I should try and find a way to make better use of it so I decided to buy a simple black slip (strapless) to not conflict with this dress which is a racerback and to wear it underneath. The slip, itself, doesn’t fit me perfectly and sometimes is pretty roomy, but it will do for the time being. To keep everything together, I added this turquoise belt that I bought from Anthropologie (also years ag0) and instead of cinching it at the waist – cinched it at the natural waist to give the dress more of that voluminous dimension.
