Style Girlfriend

First off, it’s not even an app! I’m actually very intrigued by Style Girlfriend because I can’t even tell you how many of my guy friends ask me for style advice on a regular basis. Actually the last interaction that comes to mind is Tommy on a shopping trip and sending me photos of every shirt in a store.

“What do you think about this one?”

“Do we like this one?”

“How’s this?”

I think my response was… “Isn’t Leslie [your girlfried] right next to you?!

From now on, when my friends ask me for style advice, I might just direct them straight to Style Girlfriend. However, what kind of good friend would I be if I didn’t check this out for myself to make sure that this was legit? It’s likely that the next time someone has a question, we’ll ask together and make sure that whoever is typing on the other end has an answer that matches mine. For now, we think this is a pretty good idea!

Pulse Check

Hey y’all!

I just realized that I wrote my first post today in pretty much a month. I found out earlier this week that I’m going to be home for two weeks before I leave again and I was more than thrilled. This has been the most exhausting experience I’ve ever had to be on the road for nearly two months back and forth from city to city and then back to the Bay Area again, but what an adventure it has been. I think what I love the most too is that it hasn’t ALL been work. We’ve sprinkled some fun in there too! Like Mandi’s wedding for example! Don’t worry, we’ll let you know all those details soon.

I feel very grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to spend time in cities that I’ve never been to before like Philly and Pittsburgh, but I also just recently spent a week in Boston and fell in love with fall there. Plus every trip that I’ve been on has rotated out some of my colleagues and it’s always more fun to explore cities and university campuses that they came from. What I’m saying is… some people hate traveling for work for all kinds of reasons, but for me, I think I’ve found more reasons to love it.

We’re still neck deep into busy season, but tonight, I’m taking some time off and spending some time on the blog <3

Black and White and Boba

Top – Aritzia / Pants – Uniqlo / Heels – Vince Camuto

As of late, I’ve been noticing that black and white have been dominating my closet. To be honest, I don’t hate it! I’ve always had a few pieces sprinkled in here and there, but now I have enough black/white tops and bottoms to last me a whole week without any repetition. I really love this look because I like to think of it as my power outfit. In a startup like the one I work for, this uniform isn’t really necessary, but sometimes, it’s fun to dress up! On this particular day, we did a group boba order for my office from Sweet A Little and I was happy to see that when it arrived, it was perfectly matching my outfit.

Top – Abercrombie / Pants – Urban Outfitters / Shoes – Vince Camuto

I love these pants for their “Wow!” factor. I remember walking around the office in them a couple of years ago when someone stopped in their tracks and said to me, “Whoa. Pants.” Like, hi – yes. I’m wearing them. I guess I should preface by saying that I don’t wear pants or jeans a lot to work so whenever I do, that’s a shocker in itself. This was the first time that I had put all these pieces together and I wasn’t sure that it would work out. Now looking back at it – I think the stripes from the shirt and the pants are a bit much, but the pants and the shoes are a good match. Sometimes we can’t always get it right. 🙂

Justin Timberlake and the Tennessee Kids Trailer

I’m not someone that pays money for a lot of big production shows. I’ve never had an interest in seeing Beyonce or Kanye live, but I did see Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande within the last couple of years. And when I was much younger, Britney Spears like twice!

After watching this trailer though, I’m a little interested in seeing this which features Justin Timberlake on his 20/20 Experience World tour. The main footage comes from his Vegas show, but will highlight from 134 shows and two years of being on the road for this tour. I’ve always had a soft spot for Timberlake anyways so I’m sure I’ll really enjoy this.
